Handheld hoovers
« on: 19 February 2013, 10:54:03 »

I have been meaning for too long now to get a handheld Hoover for use in my cars, so over the next day or two i'm gonna get one.

Any recommendations?

Oh 100% the Dyson DC34
All the power of a Dyson in the palm of your hand! Charges at home/in the garage and stays charged for quite some time!

I love mine!

Ok thanks, being a dyson I'm guessing it's pricey though?

Around £150 give or take at retail - ebay may have better prices!

Worth every penny though!

i've tried cheaper ones in the past. some are ok, but i like the dyson can pick up ANYTHING from the footwell without complaining about it!

It was pants having to hoover then brush out then hoover again!

With handhelds you do generally get what you pay for... For your price range price I'd buy a cheap cylinder and an extension lead... It'll be far more effective ;)

I assume its a much better performer than the household Dysons then,as they are shite. A classic case of style over substance if ever I seen one.

Not used a handheld one but agree with the household ones... We have a Vax upright vacuum now and it's one of the best I've ever seen :y

I'd second that - for that price pick up the Wickes wet/dry vac .. it's about £40, grab a wet filter and you can use it to hoover up ridiculous quantities of water and I once watched it suck a tennis ball sized chunk of wadded up kitchen paper out of a pit filled with 3" of water ;D By far the most powerful vac I've used - sucks the parquet flooring out in my house!  :-[

We have a black and decker cordless one that gets a lot use and works well.

Its not used for vaccuming as such though, its more a spot cleaner (replaces the dust pan and brush and for picking stuff up thats been dropped/knocked over).

Job done, picked up quite well.  :y
It'll also save the mrs lugging the big Hoover up and down the stairs. I know, I'm too good to her  ;D
