All mine have had names, often based around numberplate if it fitted.  The notable exceptions are the 2 cars I've own that I haven't learned to love yet...  ...an old 1.8 GLSi Belmont and a 3.2 Omega Elite ::)

So, for Omegas, in order of ownership
The Silver Bullet - my beloved 1998 MV6. Its silver, and it shifts.
Redmobile - a 1996 CD. In red.
TRACTOR! - my beloved TD Elite, now Squealeys. Its, err, a tractor.
The Golden Nugget - a gold (Champayne) facelift Elite with a poo-brown facia. Now in the great car scrapyard in the sky after blowing its load up the M40 one night.
03 3.2 Elite - as yet unnamed, but unofficially, "That bloody Elite"

The advantage of only having 1 car :)

In the TB household, we tend to use whatever car is most convenient to use (basically, which has fuel, as doesn't involve too much musical chairs on my driveway ::)), so naming makes it easier...

I guess at home, they are called by their colour, ie the red one or green one. Never felt the need to name my car

My Senator and all my Omega's have been "The Beast" as it they were very masculine.

My delightful and lovely Toyota Carina II was called "Betsy" as she was soft, gentle and feminine :D :D ;)

Yeah, that was the shortened name for The Golden Nugget, I imagine a lot of people with gay champayne/oyster gold cars use that one :y

The Elite (now the truck) is called Marvin, as it has a brain the size of a planet and here it is, going from one side of town to the other (the original Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy might help here), plus it was always breaking down and making it a miserable b'stard!

The MV6 was named The Kaiser - no idea why, but being built in Germany, maybe? Or was it cos it just went everywhere IT wanted and sod every other car on the road?

The wife's Honda HR-V is called HaRVey.

The Vectra is called Ken - number plate is KN----- and it's fairly inconspicuous.

The Carlton is The Louts - when I sketched it out many years ago, I stuck a Lotus badge on it, as you do, and my daughter (about 5 at the time) misread it as Louts and it kinda stuck.

My workmates have named my car 'The Hearse' in a very p***taking way, but I don't name my cars, and I hate it when people refer to their car as 'She'. Don't know why, I just do

Well, Mrs VXL V6 calls my Diesel elite the Delite (as in delete) and her estate is known as the tractor or bus.

I think the last thing I called the V6 was 'thirsty b******'

Personally, I think hope that was just wishful thinking on his part - he was eyeing up a young estate agent at the time (and I was trying to get him to play the 'guess if he's gay' game)
