Ducati being bought by Audi
« on: 19 April 2012, 19:46:53 »

I know this rumour has been circulating for sometime.

But it has now been confirmed by Audi, with a price tag around $1bn.

Who will win / lose from this deal?

More globalisation. More market share and punters to advertise to.

Winners? Stock holders. pension funds? Losers? No one springs to mind.

It has been owned by venture captilasts for years. A U.S. group owned it last I heard. There has been a lot of uncertainty about its future for a while now,so this should bring stability and calm nerves in the short/medium term.Whether Italian passion will be strangled by Germanic autocracy & efficiency etc ? only time will tell.
