Why try to change gea yourself if its auto? All you'll do, as you found out, is not allow the ECU to plan its changes.

Figure is meaningless tbh.Its just not possible to achieve accurate figures without timing beams/ transponders etc. ;)

best method for a fast miggy is to drop a stronger turbo lump and a manual box.. but in any case it will cost serious money and effort :-\     yesterday checked the import laws.. its possible although requiring lots of papers signed by officials (if you will use on the road)  and  in case I sacrifice big money :'(

I bought one of these from Ebay (£40). There was something wrong with mine, and I couldn't get it to record time, speed, and distance properly.

I understand that  "Performance Box" is far superior, and significantly more accurate, too.  It uses GPS instead of old-fashioned accelerometers..... :y

Yep, mine was also cheap from Ebay. Might not be the most accurate box these days but I bought it for back to back comparisons between tweaks of the "other" car, and it is perfect for that.

what is this and what does it do,

Increases the compression ratio, as the revs pick up, thus giving you better performance, i.e. accelleration, fuel comsuption etc.
