Electrically powered vehicles have been hitting ridiculously low 0-60 times for years, nothing surprising in that given how the power is delivered.

I read about some trials in the 1980s on the Southern region with a tractor EMU with no trailer sets, 3200bhp and 4 coaches so it flew.

Actually electricity is rather effective when you have continual supply ;D ;D

What we really need is either trolley bus style overhead wires, or slot car style grooves ;D ;D ;D ;D
