Possible it was damaged in transit? Other reviews seemed to imply they went straight up :-\ :-\

Can't comment on quality as I doubt anyone other that yourself and your assistant for the day have seen both ;)

Shit.
Quite bought a cat from them once would not meet up at the manifold because it was to tight to the gearbox. Cheeky self-abusers said it was my bad fitting got it changed for a different style but no apologies.

haha, im in the picture there  :D , sorry to say it Tunnie, but shite as TB says, by looking at it thoughrouly this afternoon, we came to conclusion it was either damaged in transit or a manufaturing fault, which is what TB is going with  :P

I initially thought the rear section was out of position but looking back at picture No.1 it appears that the right hand side front pipe is forcing the clam shell out of parallel.  :-\ Even where Ben is holding them together for comparison the clam shells are not level.

I assume they are being returned.  :-\

Passenger bank is ok, its driver side which is feked. Backbox is ok too, will call ETS tomorrow & see what they say.

Going to supply pictures as proof & hope they send out a replacement, then do what ever they want with the dud.

I wondered that, and would agree, but these seem to be a lower workmanship on the pipes. Plus the welds are all painted, and the welding looks like, err, mine!

Checking photos they do look same as the 2.2 Eternal one I bought in terms of the "P", but as above, the welds look better on Eternal:

I reckon silencers are from same supplier - TY? - but pipework not

Some "adjustment" might be in order there perhaps.

Say what you will about the genuine VX exhausts, but at least they bolt straight on :-\

Used to be worth the extra, now they are no better noise wise and quality as Eternal. Which I should have got.

Ringing up later today for options, considering a full refund really.

Makes sense. My eternal parts were P stamped on the passenger side, but Marix branded on the driver side. Backbox was P marked.

The one in the picture looks like it has suffered transit damage.

Tried, my bench is nowhere near strong enough.

As as long as I hadve a hole in a backside, that was not transit damage.
Title: Re: ETS Exhausts Review
Post by: tunnie on 10 September 2012, 09:13:10
No damage in transit, its just not been bent enough.

Can't see a strong enough force doing that in transit, no other signs of damage on that box.

Called ETS, although it lists London as dispatch, I was not surprised to hear a Polish voice the other end  ::)

Requested to e-mail details through, which I have with photos. Will give them a couple of hours then ring back, asked for either a full refund or replacement for drivers side.

In mean time, looking to get my old trusty steed the 2.2 to ride again. We need a working legal spare!  :D

You still have 4 road legal cars, and only 3 people...  ...I'm all for spare cars, as you know (I mean, I drive Vauxhalls, spare cars are always handy ;D), but 2 spare cars is just greedy.

Yeah but the working legal spare, is a Nissan  ::)

I've driven it a few times, just being a passenger you get tired after 30 miles. Basically its only a spare for MotherT, myself and FatherT won't drive it  ;D

That said, with FatherT, he will be a bit confused as to what the 3rd pedal does  ;D

In event of issue, my Elite becomes the "loaner" and I would use the 2.2. So its a spare for us really  :)

Quite impressed with ETS support, after I sent my mail with photos, they replied with the auto response really of what is your car, make, model engine ect.

But once given that & looking at the pictures they agreed its wrong. Replacement being dispatched today  :)

Yes, caused bit issues as I'm not going camping any more  :(

But looking forward to working on 2.2 again, getting that on the road, bike needs a MOT, garage needs a clearout, Elite also needs drop links really and springs, so going to spend this time getting those things sorted, otherwise be another 6 months before those got sorted  ::)

Well replacement shipped, but they don't expect it to arrive until early next week  :(  >:(

Might need to take a look at my 2.2 LPG mapping sooner rather than later, cause I won't be wanting to use petrol!
