I received the following sad new last night:
Hello Dr. Gollum. I,m sorry to tell you that Terry has died after being ill for a couple of months.
The Forum was so important to him. So thanks for being there. There are various Omega parts, but I couldn't tell you what. My email address is xxxx*, if anyone is interested in having a look.
Terry's wife, Tricia Paget
If anyone was determined to try and fix something, it was Terry. An affable chap who would always try to help where he could and a pleasure to have met him at the meets he attended.
I have removed Tricia's e-mail address from this quote to deter bots, but I have forwarded the message to the Admin team should anyone be wish to contact her.

Sad news, Terry was a proper fixer upper, used to enjoy his posts. RIP :'(
-
Sad news indeed. I met Terry on several occasions, when he came all the way up from Somerset to the High Wycombe meets. A very polite and interesting gentleman. Rest in peace, Terry.
-
Was asking about Terry a few weeks back, sad news. :(
I was also asking about someone else :-X
-
Sad indeed, seemed to live for tinkering
-
Another one of the old guard past on.
Never had the pleasure of meeting him but always enjoyed reading his posts.
RIP Terry :(
Thoughts with Terry's family and friends at this sad time :(
-
RIP. I'll miss Terry's contributions to the forum.... both to him and his past Omegas. :'(

Sad news :(
Terry was a true gent , he will be missed by many
lets hope he's driving a rust free V6 MANUAL Omega in heaven :)
-
Very sad news indeed. :'(
I always enjoyed reading Teery,s tinkering posts on the forum, and he came across as a real old fashioned gentleman.
I hope his passing was peaceful and may he rest in peace.
-
Didn’t know him, but read some interesting posts of his. Sorry to hear this, may he Rest in peace.
-
Sad news indeed , the grim reaper is busy these days :(
-
Really sorry to hear this. If I'm still able to tinker with cars as enthusiastically at his age I'll be a happy man.
Condolences to his family.
-
Sad news. :'( Met Terry a few times at meets and he came across as a real gentleman. He would quietly listen to other people's tales before having a chat himself.
As already mentioned, he was a proper fixer upper, a tinkerer and a determined chap, and considering his age he did very well to still be tinkering with cars as long as he did. :y
RIP Terry and condolences to the family. :'(
-
So many deaths I've heard of in the past couple of weeks, old colleagues mainly never met Terry but I know he contributed a lot to this forum , may he Rest in peace.
-
I always admired Terry's determination to keep his fleet of cars going for his family and he never seemed daunted, just had a go. :y
RIP Terry. :'(

I was thinking of Terry a couple of weeks back. One of life's true gentlemen, kind, helpful, interesting, and clearly willing to both share knowledge and absorb new learnings.
Such sad news. I shall miss his posts, and also his attendance at many of the meets I saw him at.
My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
-
Echoing the thoughts of many on here. Never met him but his posts were great, a proper old-school gentleman mechanic. Always seemed to be getting advice for helping other people rather than himsel, which spoke volumes about the man.
RIP. Do we have any plans for sending something to the family from the OOF? Card and flowers?
-
I'm very sorry to hear this news.
Like many I enjoyed Terry's posts and he was a very positive contributor to OOF.
He'll be missed greatly.
RIP Terry.

Sad news, I met him at one of the OOF meets, a true gentleman who kept us all entertained with his enthusiasm for all things mechanical. RIP Terry.

There have been times over the last couple of years when Ive been working on a car, feeling worn out, and thought Im getting too old for this and should pack it in. Then Terry posts on here about maintaining the family fleet have come to mind, so I had a word with myself and kept going.
He was quite an inspirational character.
-
Some of our best How-to threads were started by Terry getting in slightly over his head and asking for advice. He took the resulting banter well, which is a sign of a class act.
RIP
-
Very sad news indeed. :'( Condolences to his family.
-
Very sad to hear this. Terry was always entertaining in his posts and as Migv6 alluded to he seemed to work tirelessly to keep his family fleet going. They will certainly miss him for that. RIP and condolences to his family.
-
I'm another one who never met the man but enjoyed his posts. For some reason when I read the opening post of this thread I felt a strangely poignant form of sadness. My sincere condolences to his family and may he rest in a well earned peace.
-
I am very sad to hear of Terry’s passing. As others have said, he was clearly a loving family man, frequently working on family vehicles. My sincere condolences to Tricia and family.

Have been forwarded this article:

Terry features in the middle section, and gives a pretty decent summary of who he was.

Excellent link, thanks for posting!
I think his background in vintage printing machinery gave him a good grounding for working on Omegas... :D

This is very sad news.
I had the fortune to meet Terry and his wife earlier this year. Both were lovely people.
RIP Terry and my thoughts are with his wife and family.
