Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Wots this plug for?
« on: 05 February 2024, 20:42:14 »
On the wiring loom section that goes to the Lambda sensors on the 3.0 there is a 2 pin plug . Did it go to the fuel vent valve? If so will it need a resistor to fool ECU?

« on: 05 January 2024, 15:44:32 »
So went to fit the prop to the Austin and cant remember how the damper fits at gearbox end, one shown in Haynes did not have one and no mention. Now have seen on here? some do not have a damper so is it okay to leave it off?  Total PIA to get at when its on my scissor lift , good job it has a safety interlock as squeezed inside it to reach!!

Omega General Help / breathers.
« on: 21 April 2023, 16:19:41 »
So had to remove the plastic breather connector from top of engine to give me bonnet clearance with the intake pipe, made up 2x 10mm copper pipes to fit between throttle body and Y shape hose. That is the same as the plastic housing and that bit is okay. Question is the 2 small pipes that come from Breather box, what are they for ? vent system. If so they can be deleted as no fuel tank vent connected.

Omega General Help / cylinder head
« on: 03 December 2022, 16:27:42 »
After getting the head I bought refaced I went to fit it (x30xe) and found the deck height to intake was a lot bigger than the old heads. Ended up robbing the intake valve out to go in the old head. Now this engine is ex plod so would it have been modified to a higher compression? If it has had them both refaced then they took loads off or is there a low compression version

« on: 30 April 2022, 17:04:42 »
So got some pads and a fitting kit for the Austin , now the Omega doner was ex plod but there is only one set of rear pads listed in Apex book. They are quite loose side to side and pins and anti rattle are to narrow . Any chance it has vented rear callipers fitted as they are solid discs , ATE callipers on rear with 40 cast in.
