I haven't used the omega since Christmas due to wife having a car and the fact that we use that for local trips.
And lockdown.
Actually I used it Once, 3 weeks ago, and it only just fired into life.  Should have put it on charge then.

Obviously the battery is flat.  So jump leads off the Astra and it started fine. Reversed it onto the shared drive so i can put my battery charger on it.

Which is in the boot. The ignition needs to be off to open the boot.

Then The boot won't open due to low battery.

So I try to start it. No. 4 mins of idling is not enough to get enough charge.

So I have to use the Astra to get it open, with jump leads, and then I can start it again.

Only now it won't rev above 1500 RPM and is throwing up ignition fault codes and the traction control light is on.

Get my new fault code reader.  Thank you farther christmess.

Fault codes erased.

So now I go to turn the ignition off so i can put the charger on.  No the charger won't work below 9v, so i have to put the jump leads on, get it started again. Connect the charger with the engine running (I was questioning the wisdom, but thought ah opps it)

Once the charger is working, the engine off, and back indoors for a cup of tea.

I'll give it until lights out.

And then I'll put it on again tomorrow morning.

Last time. I found I needed 3 sessions of about 4 hours to get the battery holding full charge.

Of course the battery may be oppsed but hey.

I'd buy a new battery ,ready for when it lets you down ,if you're not using the car, just don't leave it on the car,

then you can have one fully charged ready ,the old one may recover enough to start the car if you take it in and give it a decent trickle charge ,but it's sounds like it's days are numbered .

you can probably get a 096 for £60 delivered

I always have a spare ,fully charged battery in MY car, and a few fully charged at home  :D

Either...

Push it back to where you found it and buy a new battery (not fitted) ready for when you actually need to use it.

Or...

Buy a new battery and drive the car about 40 miles further than the length of your drive. And leave the negative disconnected whilst you aren't using it.

Your current battery is probably nearer permanent death than a charge can recover.

I wouldnt use anyone else. Bought a new battery for the C**o from them last week. Much cheaper than ECP (for example) and delivered within two days.  :y

Remember, letting the battery o flat essentially has it. Permanently. So think about a new battery, and charge it more often if not using it.

Used a radio controlled toy car to clear the snow from the road.  Ironically, this 10m or so of road is the only bit of road on this part of the estate that isn't now compacted ice ;D
