Changed the drivers side engine mount on the Mazda Premacy.

Ever since I bought it nearly, 2 years ago, it has felt harsh at idle and something seemed to be 'loose' on the drivers front side but I couldn't find a cause. 3 weeks ago I convinced myself that the (fluid filled) engine mount had become incontinent so I managed to source a replacement.

Next time I looked I couldn't find any sign of leakage and rocking the engine seemed to be normal so I lost confidence :-(

With the old one off the car it was possible to see a split in the rubber. The new one lifted the engine up by 20mm and the interior of the car has stopped buzzing and rattling at idle. Result :-)

2 new Runway Performance 926 tyres on the Mondeo, which at £66.98 each via ASDA Tyres I've found to be a good tyre for the price.  :y

Keep the heater off for a while in the morning to help it warm quicker and put some baco foil in front of the rad but don’t forget to take it off😂
I managed to block the grill with some debris off the A3, whilst racing back from Surrey last summer.  That cooked it ;D.  I remember running over the debris, but had no idea it kicked up and blocked the cooling, and there was nowhere on the outer London car park to stop.  But keeping the heater on full chat managed to just keep it out of the red ;D

Nah, just drive it round in 1st and 2nd, accelerating hard* at all times.

All things relative. The Battleus doesn't have a concept of acceleration ;D

Just parked the dirty pussy up. It has that hot/ragged smell.

I'm sure the snow will cool it.

I miss my old 1990 216GSi.  The only fault I could gripe with it was lack of power steering.  I think only the autos had PS as standard.

Also, on mine, 3rd gear was a bit whiny. But then it was the only gear I used, as it was good from about 20 - 115mph, and the Honda lump in mine did like to rev.

It is still a great car. I guess it has survived due to it's Honda engine and power train. Originally, mine had a manual steering rack bur I retro- fitted power steering using parts from a suitable donor vehicle.

Fitted the Bridgestone Blizzak snow and ice tyres to Mrs Builder's rally car astra estate .
another load of snow during the night and Icey roads and we live on an un-gritted hill ,so I bit the bullet .
Plus side ,sods law says ...fitting the winter tyres will ensure it's hot and sunny for the rest of the year  :D
