Title: Halfauds Trade Card
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 31 July 2006, 08:27:21
I got one of these in the post this morning....sent by vxon
I didnt know anything about it coming.....so had a butchers on vxon
Appears they got 199 of them and are sending them out to the first 199 members.

Its a bit unclear to me how much discount you get....someone on vxon reported getting about 20% on a tool they bought.

Anybody near me wanting to get tools/etc from Halfauds and hasnt got one....your welcome to borrow it   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Wonder how much discount I will get on a £3.49 air freshner  ;D
Cheers

You could be.....i think it was the first 199 paidup members.....minus ummm banned....so if you were paidup member number 200 and one paidup member before you got banned, you will get one.

Did you get banned Ron??? Did you say something wrong  ;D

I usually use Andrew Page for any bits I need. Cant see Halfords being any cheaper(trade card or not) and they certainly wont carry the stock

Just tried out my Trade Card.

25% off a 3/8" universal joint.

25% off a wire brush set.

It appears you can get anything from 10% - 70%, depending on what you buy.

Guy said upto 50% off batteries, upto 70% on bulbs.

Seems a reasonable 'must have'.

Do you think it's worth becoming a member on the dark side at this stage? Any trade card has got to be  a bonus! [smiley=embarassed.gif]

I believe they only had a limited amount, and gave them out in date of registration.

I believe that is correct....apparently vxon are the first club to get the card and have been given 3 months trial with it......however that works?? does it mean use it loads to keep it.....or dont use it to keep it  :-/

However i have a cunning plan for you AA.....if in 3 months the card does get withdrawn.....move house several times so you carnt be traced, then dress up in drag....and im sure you will still get away with using the card  ;D

Well, I've already taken advantage of mine (see earlier post).

Knowing my luck the card probably wouldn't be accepted over here anyway! You guys make the most of it while you can though.
It'll be interesting to see whether more or less usage will confirm it's survival beyond the three month period.

I take it the conditions are explained on the 'Other Site', the one I can't get into.

Not really conditions......there is a list of what can be bought using the trade card and what cannot..it seems to be service items and tools only...theres also a thread on what people have bought and what discount they got.

So looks as i wont get any discount on a £3.49 air freshener  :'(

So if you weren't one of the lucky ones to receive one how can the man on the street get one, is it like trade club with Vx where you need to a reg company or something like that.

Is this something you can buy into.
