..... When parts wear out or it goes wrong it costs serious money and  .......

Cost isn't the major problem. Having a shed loads of cash won't buy parts that are 'NLS' as a lot of Lotus specific parts are.

its well protected it has had over 2 grand spent on securiy although if someone wanted it im sure its possible   my garage is being double alarmed this week  and  part of the security my brother had done is metal bars tha lock into place under the front and rear of car and they lock into plates on the floor so makes it near impossible to move if garage alarms didnt do their job

Another aspect that makes a Lotus Carlton/Omega an impractical every day car.

.....i will be using it for my everyday car.....

Some parts ie brake discs are too difficult to source to use a Lotus Carlton as everyday car.

.......NOT in any way anti English, an awful lot are still.........

My Mother-in-law is from Edinburgh & never realised how anti-English most Scots are until she moved to England to live & just went back 'home' to visit. When my wife worked in Edinburgh city centre the office was actually divided into Catholics, Protestants & English ie my wife, who was actually as Sottish as most of the office if not more. When I was in the Navy at Rosyth if I heard about bloody Bannockburn once ......  :-? (still don't know where it is though  ;))
If I go for a pint with SWMBO's cousin's husband I'm often introduced to his mates along the lines of 'he's English but it's OK he's with me ...'

The man replies,

'My Good fellow, I'm English. Could you repeat that in the Queen's English for me, and speak slowly for Goodness sake?'

The game keeper replies,

'I said, use two hands - you get more that way!!!'
 ;D

A sure fire way to wind up a Scott ...... "speak slowly in English"  ;D

Looks good, but is not rear wheel drive :(

Hit the nail on the head. The article in the Sun yesterday (I found it in the canteen ..... Honest ;)) was already comparing it to a 5 series. How when they don't even share the basic drive layout?

eBay mph
I've already asked him if he could show me how to get that kind of mpg out of a 3.0 Omega as I need 2 gallons to go as far. Also has he nearly perfected perpetual motion.
I'd had my fill of bull$hit before I got to the cam belt bit.
The car doesn't look too bad, but why do sellers feel the need to bull$hit in their blurb?
