Front fogs on a 95 Omega.
« on: 16 September 2007, 17:19:19 »

I have just fitted a front bumper with f/fogs on my 95 2.0ltr gls. I have connected them to the plugs already there but they don't work. According to the haynes book the fuse is F16 20 amp fuse and nothing is there not even the wiring connections. My question is, is the front fogs on a different fuse or is it F16? If it is F16 then what would I need to do to get them wired in and work?

thanks in advance. Paul  :y

Not sure which fuse it is but you will also need the main light switch with front fog on and AFAIR a relay as well.

Isn't there a relay in the main fuse panel?

I haven't looked. But there is no fuse or wiring going to the fuse box inside the car under the steering wheel, unless it's on another circuit. Looking at the wiring diagram in the hynes manual it just show's the wiring going from the fogs to the switch via the fuse box F16 20 amp fuse. All I want to do is get them wired up or working. Any help would be appreciated if anyone is a auto sparkie.

I have also found this to be the case on my 97 omega v6 gls, the wiring behind the fogs is there but no wiring behind the fusebox,

the wiring diagram shows there is no relay for the front fogs, it is controled by the switch, The simple answer is the wiring to the fusebox was not installed at the factory, so you will need to use an aftermarket relay and switch.

Subsequently my old 2.0 gls had the wiring behind the fusebox and I fitted the lights and switch and it worked.

The 2.0 gls also had the wiring for the heated seats rear blind and traction control switch (even tho it was a 4cyl model)  behind the heater panel but the v6 didnt,

Have a look behind the blanks on your heater panel, if you cannot see any electrical terminals then your car has the basic wiring loom, which i suspect is the case.

cheers

Steve
