Remote Locking Problem
« on: 09 January 2008, 20:46:17 »

Hi Folks,

Just bought my Omega.

The remote plipper will unlock the car but not lock it. I have tried synchronising it, but it does absolutly nothing when I follow the procedure.

Any suggestions gratefully received :)

So the next piexe of the saga.....

It's not the fox Vx reckon because the ignition barrell was replaced with a much earlier version one, it is not sending the right signals to the locking/ alsrm electronics and therefore will not lock on the fob becuse the system is telling it the keys are still in ignition or the door is open.

VX suggest replacing all locks and resetting the electronics for a full fix.

Dread to think what that will cast as they quoted me £15 for five dashboard bulbs 'coz they are special ones!'

Plip coding £40.00, absolute robbery, how do they get away with it.....

Grrrrrrrrr >:(

Sorry TB being thick.

I have cause to be in Nottingham from time to time as brother in law lives there so that would be a possibility. What do you suggest?

Ask Marks_DTM to either fix your switches or program a 'new' fob (see http://theboy.omegaowners.com) from ebay

Thanks for that and will def contact Daves DTM. Brother in Law off round world for a few months, so might have to wait for a bit, but worth it rather than give those bandits the cash.

Cheers for the info :y
