Short of me driving over and doing it for you...

The plastic cover on the lock mechanism? Not the plastic membrane on the door.
There isn't one, he just said. So someone else has removed the plastic cover'.
In the first post... The passenger door should have still had the plastic case attached.

The idea being that you take the passenger mechanism off, understand EXACTLY how it works and apply that to to one stuck in the drivers door. But apparently that overcomplicates it...
Yep, just checked, I can still read. Post #11, no plastic cover on lock mechanism.

As I said previously I have taken out the passenger side mechanism which was suggested in other threads!

Neither door has plastic covers on lock mechanism nor plastinner membrane fitted so suspect previous problem with lock or locks. As membrane missing on both doors the airbag system is also compromised, without taking car apart before buying one cannot see the hidden problems!

OK, :y no plastic cover actually simplifies things as you should have a clear view of the part you need to move to unlatch the door. All I will say is you come at it from underneath.

The weather membrane can be fitted using pretty much any heavy duty plastic sheet and some duct tape once you're done.
