Left it at home to use the train to go to Lundin...

That was a mistake.

First two buses didn't bother stopping at the bus stop to get to the station.

I wouldn't mind, but they were both early, a bus length apart and both drivers saw me, and I was standing at the bus stop with my arm out. And when I gave them a WTF look as they went back past me, one completely blanked me and the other stuck his tongue out at me.  ???

Suffice to say that prompted a pissed off call to their office. They bitch about reduced subsidies etc, but if they cba to pick up fare paying pass, they deserve to be out of business.  :-X

Train to Lundun was OK except for being full of people  :-X

Passport office was a five minute job, in spite of being half an hour early for my appointment. Expensive, but effective... Renewal form all done on line in Gran Canaria last Tuesday. I might have done it by post but it only had five months left, which isn't enough to go away with in the spring, and I have a job application in that requires at least a year on it. So £187 to be able to collect it with zero issues or postage delays was worth it.

Get back to the station, train I needed was departing in five minutes. Go through the barrier only to find they had parked it in Battersea... Just about to press the button to open the door and the platform controller decides that would be a great time to send the train. I mean it's not like he had just watched myself and three other people walk past the first two trains on the platform to get to it. And it was 2 minutes early leaving.

Then no sooner had they done that Southern cancelled the next train.

Incompetent shower of shit.

The train I eventually caught also left early... "The doors may close 30 seconds before departure" is all well and good, but it isn't the same as "The train might depart five minutes early and tough shit"

Need to stop at Gatwick on the way past and I can see them cancelling the train from there when I am done just because that's what they do.

Makes you wonder why they bother to bring out a timetable.

Drove it from Barnsley to Sheffield to Bradford to Barnsley to Bradford to Sheffield to Barnsley. Only sustained by a Big Mac and large fries.

Whilst tightening an exhaust bracket on the Barge, discovered that the NSR tyre has gone past borderline to, er, racing slick. OSR isn't far behind.

So ordered some shiny new all season tyres for the scabby original wheels.

Then figured, as I was on a roll, that changing the dead ball joint made sense...

Got the Carlton MOTed, might as well get it ready in case I have to outrun the Zombies when the Apocalypse gets going...
Found out it had only done 1 mile since 2019...shameful behaviour which I hope to correct over the next 12 months.
