Purchased a pressure washer to give the Alabama Mumsybus a decent bath. Also required to knock the detritus off the patio.
I did my patio a few weeks back (with one of those circular pressure washer attachments), it always surprises me at the difference it makes :y

Can't say I've done the car recently ;D
if you use a "circular pressure washer attachment" on your Jag ,you'd be "surprised at the difference it makes"  :D

If only you knew how soft the paint is on our XJ ;D

Mind you, looking at the state of it now, chucking a bucket of water over it would make a difference, given it has an impressive layer of dust/saharan sand/whatever on it, hiding the dirt...

Two coats of snow, dome rinsing and wiping and the Alabama Mumsybus is looking pretty damn shiny 8)

I had a bit of vagueness in my steering on the omega recently  :(
I couldn't pinpoint what it was , so replaced the center tie rod plus inner and outer track rod ends both sides .
I roughly set the tracking ,drives fine now  :)
so I can only put it down to very slight wear in all 6 of the joints   :-\ not much ,I doubt even an advisory on an MOT .
i managed to get the steering wheel about 30 degrees off  , despite centralising it before i started  ::)
I'll have it laser aligned anyway .when i get chance  :-X
also replaced the front discs and pads ,only about 50% pad wear but a ridge of rust on the outer edge of the inner faces ,
I could have ground it off  but I had them apart and had new Lucas pads(from my parts hoard) and QH discs
if they don't work out ,i'll re-fit the GM ones, after a tidy up

I like them  :y  in a mafia sort of way and viewed one some time back with the serious intention of buying it, but my wife wasn’t so keen.  ::) When I showed interest in one the salesman produced what I thought was a brochure but it was in fact the standard spec sheet. The standard spec of the one I was viewing was huge and just went on and on.  :y

This one is reasonably well appointed. No nav, which at c15yrs old I consider to be a plus point. No sunroof, which I would have liked, but that was outweighed by the fact it had obviously been well looked after. Never anything more serious than balding rear tyres on its mot history and  someone had treated it to £650 of Bridgestones at Christmas.

It also has remote start, which is a first for me  :).

In truth, an impending new arrival has meant that spending £800pcm on car finance, plus c £4000 in basic running costs over the next 12months was not the smartest of smart ideas. So I decided to get shut and spend just the running costs on a whole car instead.

I've looked at all manner of things, but in meeting the brief of size and comfort, nothing has been able to touch it for the money.

YZ250: I've softened swmbo up by taking her to look at things like 1990's Saabs, a rover 75 and at least two broken L322 range rovers. She thinks the 300 is amazing!  ;D

Basically an old E Class underneath, but a pretty solid V6 diseasal lump. Glow plug issues tend to be the control unit, about five minutes to change. Oil change takes about five minutes. Fuel filter is about fifteen minutes to change, but involves removing both air filter housings... These can be a bit fiddly to line up the bolts. The 5 speed slushbox is pretty bombproof. Likewise the 7 speed although the electronic gear selector on the 7 speed can feel a bit slow compared to the direct mechanical connection of the 5 speed one.

Sevice parts are cheap and easy to obtain, Mercedes service parts being pretty reasonable.  :y
