Hi all,
Ive been searching through forums but can't really find a proper answer,
Ive recently bought a 2001 Omega Facelift, it has been sat around for a while with a flat battery.
Last time I visited the car, central locking worked and the boot opened just fine. About a month later, I jump started it and now can't get the central locking to work nor get the boot open.
My key fob is broken so I can't open the boot with that, but I can't get the boot open via the button on the dash.
I understand on early models, the key needs to be out and the button needs to be held down.
Any ideas?
Ive seen a few topics on here with the same problem but never found the issue.
Also I have checked all the fuses and all seem fine.

Did you try to recharge the battery?
How long did you hold the button?
I need to hold boot release button for 4 seconds on my current Omega (2002)

You need to get the fob working in order to resync it.
The boot should still open from the button, as said press and hold for at least four seconds.
Failing that it could be a break in the loom at the hinge. Open from inside if all else fails :y

Early facelifts need key to be out of the ignition (not just sign off), and a single press of dash button
Later facelifts just need the button pressing for 3s
Superior Prefacelifts don't need a button, because the boot is opened properly ;D

There is a better than average chance that the ECU has been swapped out for a different one, so there is a decent chance that the manual is wrong ;)

Hi all,
Yep have had the boot open in the past so aware of the procedure of opening, but since the flat battery it no longer works as well as the central locking.
Have checked every fuse that I know of and all seem fine,
I can't get the boot open to check the wiring loom for damage, opinions on where to go from here?
Is there a control module that controls the boot and the central locking that may have failed?

You will have to open the boot using the remote release handle inside the boot, accessed by dropping the nearside rear seat upright, and sticking your arm in the pull it. It is on the top of the inside boot lid; a bit of a fiddle to find the first time you try to locate it, but the boot lock will release manually without the need for a power supply.

just out of curiosity,when you say you checked all fuses did this include the large ones in the fusebox above the battery ? also hopefully you connected the booster charger + to the actual battery rather than any exiting leads in this said fusebox ?
sorry if you have already checked these !
