Omega General Help / Diagnoise Radiator leak
« on: 15 January 2012, 15:17:55 »
Guys,

My 2.6 started leaking coolant earlier this week, since then i have done 2 short journeys yesterday -each about 5 miles after each one I have to top up the coolant as the expansion bottle was almost empty, checked what i could
to find the leak and couldn't - the water was dripping from the hole in the cross member directly below the drivers side of the rad.
So today i removed the rad, which is quite easy - until you start dropping bolts in the engine bay. I now have it on the kitchen table and cant find any obvious signs of damage- any pointers or ideas how to troubleshoot this ?

Cheers
Al

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / bodging a wiper stalk
« on: 30 October 2008, 23:41:45 »
Is it possible to retro-fit a pre-facelift(PFL) stalk with adjustable intermittent in-to a facelift(FL)?
Physically the only difference i can see is that the fly lead for the PFL has a 6-pin connector with 5 wired while the FL one has a 4-pin connector with 3 wired

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Headlight failure
« on: 20 November 2009, 19:46:14 »
Hi Guys
A few nights ago  the left main beam did not come on and the display showed "headlight tail lamp" or "headlight tail lamp" can't remember which one  :-[
so i assumed that the bulb had gone, however when i got back in the car about a hour later , the light was working fine and the warning message had gone !
Is this an indication that the bulb is on its way out or is it a sign of a more expensive failure ?

General Car Chat / Couple of Cartlton Queries
« on: 02 June 2010, 20:03:12 »
Hi Guys,

Couple of quick questions, a mate has a K reg Carlton club estate, over a year ago dopey neighbor left the handbrake off and her car ran into the passenger side of his Carlton badly denting the rear door and quarter panel, since then it's been abandoned on his drive.
I managed to jump-start it today and it started first time, left it to run to try a charge the battery but after about 25 minutes the temp was in the red and the front fan was running.

so questions, where to check for overheating issues and secondly is it worth sorting (cleaning and solve heating) and selling or should he just scrap it?

any help appreciated
Al
