General Car Chat / My Omega is dead...

It is with great regret that i have to announce the death of my 2002 Omega...

Following a serious collision with a stolen Subaru Impreza this morning, my vehicle has been taken to the great car park in the sky....

Luckily both me and my father who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time are both well, just a little shaken. Its just so annoying that after all the work i have done on the vehicle it has been taken so abruptly... I will now be waiting to see what the insurance company offer me for it, i wont be holding my breath though for a decent figure in the current market...

I think mine has developed a mind of its own.... came home earlier and noticed that the temperature had changed from celcius to farenheight all on its own..... any ideas how i get it back to celcius?

Omega General Help / Tech II help needed urgently

Hi All, i'm in a bit of a pickle...the car has developed a fault. The ABS light is coming on on the dashboard, the speedo still works etc but i have seen my friend at the garage and had it code read which suggested a sensor fault on the OS front, said sensor has been replaced with a genuine one from Vauxhall, but the light is still coming on, and saying the same fault....my friend has suggested taking it to Vauxhall for diagnostic but they cannot get me in till next Wednesday and i start nights on Friday and am due to go on holiday on Thursday next week....

Any help would be gratefully received....

As above, the oil level sensor check warning keeps coming up on the MID...any ideas what might be causing it, every time it comes on i check the oil level and its on the max...

I know this is probably a silly question but, how do the covers come off on the puddle lights without breaking, I need to change three of the lamps but am worried as I've managed to break one already getting it off and dont want to break anymore...

Omega General Help / Code P0140

Hi All, my eml light came on this morning on the way home from work, but didn't have a look till tonight as sleep was needed. Well its showing the usual P0304 cylinder 4 misfire detected and a new one the P0140.....any ideas what the P0140 is and what may cause it?

Any help or advise would be gratefully appreciated...

Hi All

Just a quick question, my ABS light has popped on tonight, so i thought i would connect my code reader to see if any info came up....

Nothing, no codes stored. So i was wondering if it was only a Tech2 that could tell me or does ABS faults not store codes...

Any advice greatly appreciated as only started back to work this week after 19 months, and cant really afford to be without a car.

Omega General Help / Cylinder 4 misfire again

Hi all

This reoccuring problem has raised its head again only misfires on LPG, tried all the obvious like new plugs, dis pack, cam cover gaskets, breathers and throttle body cleaned. Garage where LPG conversion done have had the car on two occasions for a couple of days, only thing they can find is that the signal for the injector on cylinder looses its feed occasionally but never when running on petrol...

I'm at a bit of a loss now....if anyone has got any fresh ideas i would be grateful...

Omega General Help / Annoying fault code

Hi All

I'm after some advice and suggestions....some of you may remember a while ago i had issues with misfiring and the code P0304.... well it seems to have returned...

I've done all the obvious things like breathers, cam cover gasket, new plugs and even a brand new dis pack... if i drive on petrol it seems fine apart from idling a little bit lumpy and the code does not show, if however i run on lpg then the lumpy idle is worse and then randomly get the cylinder 4 misfire fault code come up, i have been back to the LPG Installers and had everything checked, they initally changed the injectors on cylinder three and four but to no effect. They have also recalibrated the system, and say it is running ok, fuel trims are balanced and no strange readings from ECU... so i'm puzzled

Any suggestions would be gratefully received....

I am after a little advice, i keep getting the eml come on along with the P0304 code, have checked the obvious things like spark plugs and oil in plug wells and all seems fine, so any clues would be gratefully received...thanks in advance

Hoping you can help me, i have just changed the cam sensor on my 2002 2.2cd and now it won't start. All that is happening is the EML is on and it just turns over with no attempt to fire.....

Any suggestions greatly appreciated....

Omega General Help / Car acting weird this morning

Hi guys...am a little puzzled by what happened to the car this morning...

Went out to start it.. rook a little while to turn over then started to run a little arratic....dropped it into drive the revs started going from just above 500 to 1500 so dropped it back into neutral and was then fine....

over the last couple of days the missus has been using the car whilst i've been away and when i got back home she said there had been a warning lite on the dash illuminated...after a trip to the car for her to show me it was the eml....but now not on..

any ideas?

Omega General Help / Dashboard warning lights

Hi everyone

Can anyone out there help me.....i'm trying to find out if there is a warning light that comes on when the cruise control is on, but can't find anything in my handbook....
Vauxhall say the dashboard needs to come out to sort and want 3 hours labour......(Ouch)

Any help would be appreciated.
