Title: Lord Opti has 1 of the 40 made ordered - has anybody else?
Post by: Rods2 on 25 August 2018, 02:18:43
I'm quite obviously talking about the launch of the limited addition only 40 made Bugatti Divo. A snip at €5m Lord Opti wanted a brace, but with only 40 made he had to settle for just the one. :-[ :-[ :-[

Close to Lord Opti's heart and like a woman it is all about, crisp, direct handling that rewards the 'driver'. ;) ;) ;)

Just as hideous as previous modern Bugatti,s. As Germanic as anything could be, with a prestigious Italian badge stuck on the front.

Bugattis were French cars, although he was Italian

French racing blue for the Type 35 back in the 1920's. :)

British racing green for Bentley.

Italian racing red for Alfa Romeo, Maserati.

No matter who makes it or what badge it has £5 million for a car is just stupid!

I don't even like the look of it, and as for the top speed, well where can you do that on any public road anywhere in the world safely?  It is for the billionaire who likes to flash a car because his other flashy bits, and everything else about him (it has to be a him!) are too small and insignificant! :D :D :D ;)

You would have to be just plain stupid to spend that kind of cash on a car.

I would spend that kind of money on a car (but not that one)if I were a billionaire, but then I have been described as plain stupid for as long as I  can remember.  ;D

The scouse reprobate rarely has a good word to say about anyone. :)

Given that I think any car over £500 is frighteningly expensive I seriously doubt that I'll have one :D

The colours were meant for nationalities, NOT specific cars. There was no such thing as British Racing Green, the cars were just painted whatever green was to hand.

No you wouldn't for three good reasons:

1. Bugatti was French of Italian origin.
2. You can't fit a tow bar. There are 4 exhaust pipes in the way.
3. It won't run on used chip oil.

:P :P :P

As for spending £5m on a car the price is relative to income. It is a snip compared to $30-200m for your personal jet and you're not in the rich yacht league unless you spend $200m-4.5bn.

A small business jets costs a minimum £5000 per flight hour and larger aircraft much more and I've no idea how much a yacht costs per hour but crew alone are going to cost £1m+ a year and water is much more resistive than air, so fuel bills will be eye watering as well.

For those like Lord Opti that like to have the latest rich toys, he can look at spending $200m+ in the early 2020's on his supersonic business jet as there are several competing groups working on these including Jetstream and Airbus.

In the 2014 Sundays Times UK rich list there 104 UK billionaires so there will be many more in 2018.
