Was the Chevette a scaled down Cavalier? Or are they basically the same car

The red saloon in the original link looks just like a Mk1 Cavalier...

Was occasionally taken to school in one in the early eighties, I can still smell the damp and petrol fume mix It was poo brown as well, as if that was it's biggest issue

The Cavalier was significantly larger.

It was launched with the 1256 pushrod engine from the Viva/Chevette as an option if you didn't want the 1.6 cam in head engine. I don't know if anyone actually bought one

I drove one with the shuvvit lump in,God it was slow

  My ex girlfriend had one years ago and when i drove it couldnt seem to get the hang of the gears 

had one  . didn't fit in it no room for my long legs
