i had mine checked on 4 wheel alignment at local garage needed adjusting but all in all cost £20 for the work to be done its is advised to loosen them up before taking the mig in as they will charge you for loosening them up if they stuck.  also best to have the new tyres fitted so the alignment is in range.

will Bosch 120 AMP ALTERNATOR 0124425028 fit 2.0i 16v mig as looking for a replacement as rear bearing gone on alternator and is lower than the engine sound is, it looks the same fitting but the connections on the back are in a different position. I cannot find a list of part numbers that fit engine code, need to find one asap as not driving at mo as it wakes every one up when start engine with its screeching.  :'(

Omega General Help / Re: Pending Fault Codes P1625 and P1781 ?
« on: 09 September 2017, 21:28:20 »
could of drove though a puddle and water and has gotten into the sensor plug. code goes after its dried out. had similar problem after a jet wash but it was the rubber seal from the cable to the sensor plug had split and water went in the wiring side, so made a new rubber wiring seal.

Omega General Help / Re: gear stick knob removel
« on: 08 September 2017, 21:59:01 »
its a nice looking  ::) ::) i will look into it looks a lot newer and might look a bit out of place, the aluminum one that has the lifter is black coated so not really noticeable and has the original knob on top but as its not rubber should not be afected by the heat from the sun that can get into themig on hot days. thanks for the link  :y

replace the switch, the plastic clip in the switch that operates the see-saw, when its worn out it will randomly turn on and off, it has a notch that when you press the switch it goes into a V pattern to engage the switch when its worn or fell out it pushes the switch, had same on heated seat switch as they all the same just a different shape sticks out the switch to locate it in the right slot.  you can fix the switch using parts of another one they just clip in, inside.

Thanks I will look into that. And have ago at getting it off, I will get another one as soon as I can find one. Some one was selling a aluminium for 2002 model was wondering if that would fit a 96 but he has not gotten back to me. Looks the same in pic.  But the glueing done with rubber ring glued over the split seams to be holding. Hopefully it lasts for awhile. As cannot get under Mig in this weather. Thank you :)

Yeah so it's accessed at the bottom with 2 clips ? I've glued it back on and put a rubber round and glued that on looks like it's snapped off before. It's the black rubber litter so you can move to reverse gear. Still works just split. Rubber had gone can leave a mark in the rubber with your nail. So if it's the 2 clips on the ball how does the lifter fit as not looked as would have to cut off the rubber as it has 2 metal rings holding the inner rubber boot on.?

Omega General Help / gear stick knob removel
« on: 08 September 2017, 00:27:35 »
is there any way to get the gear stick knob off to get to the lifter for reverse as its split in 2. Its still attached to the leather gaiter cover, it seams to be some sort of rubber but its very brittle, is there away of just replacing it, as been looking for another stick but only keep finding automatic type. ? cannot find a screw or a nut that would hold it on ? ???

I had a game of round abouts yesterday on the motorway yesterday cruising along at 70,  woman in a vauxhall over took pulled in front and slowed down to 60, over took pulled, back up to 70. And she did it again. went on for a while till a police car came up she stopped it then don't have a qule what she was doing, Would not of come back the motorway but they closed the road i usually go on, As i found out on the way there, but it was strange there was no mention of the road being closed on travel update before setting off, Did not even put any diversion signs up.  ???

should not have that amount of movement on the bearing, usually a tiny amount, very tiny amount is the movement between bearings and runner by the look of the bearing you have in the video its a grad d-f bearing not any good for a timing belt. this movement can be that the timing belt was to tight.

Ive been watch a lot of youtube idiot drivers from around the world, and out of all the videos posted that ive seen not one omega has been involved or even seen in the clips. now larders, BMW, mercedes, volvo, oh and smart cars.  Russia seem to . be the worst for driving accidents ("") and uk i would say is the lowest of them all i've seen. we have a few bad ones but some of the roads in Russia its hard to see who actually has right of way at junctions as it looks like they just hope for the best. and god help you if you using a pedestrian crossing. one i was watching had 16 mini roundabouts, it was just fascinating to watch them just near missing each other. Russia has the most lada accidents, you see a lot of the old square box crashing, even being crashed into when they parked they must be a magnet in Russia.  whats your opinion on these dash cam footages, some you cannot under stand how they happen others looked like crash for cash.
