Ok, thanks for that additional advice Kevin Wood. Is that a caution against using silicone spray/grease at all or just being very careful with how much you use to help clean and reinstall these seals?

Thanks all for your advice.

I think I'm going to crack on and open it up on the hope that I can reuse all or most of the seals, and use the silicone spray/grease to aid that.

I've got the GM parts number so will give them a bell too.

Thanks again.

Hi all, looking to tap into the OOF collective knowledge.

I am planning to clean the crankcase breather setup as per the excellent detailed guide elsewhere on this site, to try and tackle the persistent oil leak that my 2002 2.6 V6 has.

I understand I should need (depending on the state of the originals when they come out):

Breather bridge to plenum "tophat" seal 1 required - 90467543

Breather bridge to throttle O ring 2 off required (4 of on extended plenum's) - 90500983 - I already have 3 of these original GM, just need 1 more.

Inlet to Plenum O-rings - 9118135 - 6 required

Does anyone know where I can get replacements for these? Have tried Autovaux, eBay, multiple internet searches, my local friendly motor factor etc. I think someone mentioned a couple of years ago on this forum you could get parts such as the tophat seal from the USA? Would that be from the likes of RockAuto - as far as I can tell they only have the set of 6 o-rings (9118135) up for £35.

At the moment there is also an original new/old stock tophat seal in Germany for £59 plus postage?  :-\

Any pointers or hints gratefully received.

When wee jimmy krankee reopens all the takeaways and restaurants, I might be able to sort something, as long as there not urgent, the furthest we go is Glasgow/Belshill at moment.

Sorry for the late reply, managed to sort a wing (not a great one rust wise and not nearly the same colour) for now, but if you are up anywhere near this way at all and have one that would be great.

Either way, thanks for the offer.  :y

Hi, welcome to the forum.  :y

Sounds like you have had a bit of bad luck, but at least you came to the right place for help & advice.  Hope the insurance comes good for you. :y

Thanks for the welcome and here's hoping!  :y

Shame your not closer, I've a pair of wings in rare silver :-X

Thanks, bit far away as you say. Ah yes, that rare colour that every car from the early 2000's seems to be in?

Whereabouts in Scotland?

Perthshire at the moment, but can travel

As stated, I'm looking for a drivers side wing plus the plastic indicator surround on said wing for a 2002 facelight Omega MV6.

One that can be posted, or ideally one that can be collected within Scotland. Does anyone have one in good nick that fits all these criteria? Car is silver but that bit is not essential.

Thanks very much in advance.

Hello all,

Just wanted to say "Hi" and what a great forum this is.

Took ownership of my my 2002 MV6 2.6 V6 just a week ago.

I'm very much not a mechanic or useful at fixing cars at all, but have changed the bulbs in the puddle lights (a couple were blown), changed the pollen filter and was looking forward to checking and cleaning the drainage channels - all off the back of reading the fabulous guides on this forum.

Exactly one week in and she has been written off in a car park by an errant driver reversing their tow ball into the front drivers side wing and door. Twice.

Awaiting to hear on what the insurance company will offer, but hoping to retain car and fix her back up.

I know words mean nothing and pictures are everything on a forum, so will try and get a picture up of her in all her glory once I work out how.

Now to go and ask in the parts wanted thread if anyone has a front r/h wing going spare.
