Title: Estate to UTE/pick-up Build

and so it begins.
in the Last week i have striped out  the front and back sub frames and disassembled them and stared to sand them down but now have decided to get them sand blasted after Christmas
and all new bushings and bearings.

front Brakes and hubs need new bearings Because there a bit noisy also have grooved discs ordered

put on a new sump as i tuck the last one that was on it for my other omega  :)

The best of luck matey.....looks like you have taken on one hell of a job....i hope it all goes to plan for you and all your hard work and efforts pay off....would love to see the plan as it goes on and must see the end result...Well done  :y :y

Those are great pics of the stripped underbelly of the Omega, something I've been learning a lot about with help from OOF seniors  :y

Hoping for it to turn out something like the Holden utes they have in Australia

Reason for doing it is its a 2.5td and I have one on the road at the moment I did up last year and in Ireland the tax is 1100Euro a year for a 2.5 litre. But because this will be then classified as a commercial vehicle it will only cost only 350 Euro a year to tax. Plus I also wanted a cool project to take on :-)

The first ones are Holdens from Australia if I'm not mistaken
And plan to-do the back more like a Holden pick-up rather than that orange omega I wouldn't be to keen on his design but every one to the're own taste :-)

not a bad a days work all that is left to-do is to take out all the windows and then should be ready for chopping in the new year

so heres whats been going on i put the ute project on hold for the last couple of months. but this is not due to lack of interest it will resume shortly   :)    ive been busy making my own costume kayaking/camping/bike trailer for the summer . here is how it turned out

in the spray boot ready for primer and paint. decided why not paint it the some colour as my omega .

considering it was my first time to spray paint with car paint and lacquer it turned out okay  :) it beats a panel beaters bill!!

cheers . and ya when i lowered it i never adjusted the camber arm cause it was seized solid. have to get a new set

Hi there its nice see someone looking after there omega it will look awesome when its all sorted I've just finally finished by engine conversion it only took me 4 years lol.
Ive got to do my clean up underneath this weekend so I can get it in for the mot finally hopefully it will go well there are no nasty holes but fingers crossed good luck with yours i look forward to seeing the finished result
