Nothing to my Omega.   Yesterday, put new discs and pads on my Grandsons, very quick, Honda Civic Type R.
What a job getting the disc screws out, all four in solid, had to use a hammer and punch, replaced all four.  All I had to do then, was to convince said Grandson to take it easy on the brakes, for a while, fell on deaf ears I think. Ho well  ::) ::)

I could have done if it was on the car  ;D Had to heat the pipe end to maneuver an exhaust flange around the collar ... hitting it with a hammer never worked so out came the heat gun  :y

Replace the oil & filter, and the front discs and pads on neighbour's Golf. One of the disc retaining screws is missing sheared, I have a spare, but could'nt extract the broken piece so have drilled it out, and now need to re-tap the thread. Unfortunately my cheapo tap set does'nt have the right size. >:( >:( >:(

Took a drive down to Southsea beach in the old VW camper for "BeachBuggin" First trip in bus since I rewired it. I'm proud to announce all electrickery worked without making funny buzzin noises or sparks. Also "da Motar" kept all it's oil in the inside this time........ which was nice. Touching wood I feel I may well of turned a corner with this old air cooled nitemare now!!!

Rosie is a very special bus. She's a Fleetline Bay. So she has the body of a Split screen and the face of a low light bay. She was made in Brazil, assembled in South Africa and now lives here. Don't mix her up with the mid 1970s Split Screens which were sold in South America.  From what information we've managed to find out Rosie looks like she was 1 of a 100 which were sent to s.A as a complete kit (C.N.D) and as far we know this maybe the last one remaining. So Rosie is a little quirky looking but she has a nice history and we love her loads for being different. She has a totally unique tranny set up. Which gave me loads of grief when I needed to rebuild it.

Today has been quite busy.

Monty my Mondeo has its MOT at 10:00 tomorrow so I had a quick pre MOT check a few days back and discovered one of the rear anti roll bar links was broken, apparently a common failure. So I got some off eBay and fitted the pair today, replaced two bulbs that were blown, wire brushed and greased the copper brake pipes then cleaned it inside and out as being an ex mechanic the testers at my old place were more inclined to let something small go if the car looked well cared for.

I then changed the oil and filter on my wife's Bertie bus (Toyota Estima) and gave that a bit of a clean as well. I also changed both front side lights as they'd blown and was amazed to find that they were double element bulbs and when you indicate that go brighter to light your way round the corner. Now I know this is common place on todays vw's and mercs but this is a 1994 Toyota!!

So busy old day for me!
