Elon Musk...
« on: 15 April 2022, 15:37:56 »

....has offered £43 billion to buy twitter. :o :o :o

How fuc*king rich is he. ;)

Put simply, 43 billion is equal to 43,000 piles of money each of which contain £1,000,000.

That's $ not £, but still eye watering. He is like a kid in a sweet shop and I think the SEC may have to rein him in.

I equate 1000 million equal to one billion. I think that is correct but I could be wrong. Either way Mr Musk is richer than both of us put together. ;D

A quick google say he is worth 276.3 billion in 2022, so I suppose 43 billion is loose change.

So more than a quarter of a trillion. :o :o :o

1000 million was always the American billion, the UK billion was one million million, but we use the former now.

But, you have a vast estate in Lincolnshiresausageland. I, on the other hand, have a postage stamp one in sunny, (today anyway) Suffolk.

Elon Musk, the co-founder and CEO of Tesla, is the richest person in the world with a net worth of $273 billion.
Behind Musk is the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, with an estimated net worth of $188 billion.

To reset it's unrelenting bias.

He is already the largest individual shareholder, having bought 10% last week in response to an ongoing spat with twitter... I believe they deleted something he posted.

He has suggested buying it to shut it down in order to defend free speech. It would be a positive thing if he follows through. Not to mention the tax write off...

He is now offering $46.5 billion, so it appears he has found another $3.5 billion down the back of the sofa.
