to clarify.....

the later Saab 2.3 was modified so that its bellhousing pattern was the same as the GM "Family II" engine, which includes the Omega B 54-degree V6.

so yes, it will fit any Omega B gearbox except the BMW diesel.

For reference, these Getrag gearboxes are immensely strong - fitted to many larger and more powerful vehicles than Omega B.

but of course its still only a four-cylinder. There's something very wrong about taking out a six-cylinder and replacing it with a four-pot - even if it is a 500 horsepower one.

Indeed, and judging from the pics, without the bagpipes, there's room for at least 2 more cylinders ::)

There is cheapest option is the 350 chevy, GM built them with the LS1, 350 probably cheaper in the long run and reliable as the day is long.........infinitely tuneable
