General Discussion Area / Re: New parking laws due into effect
« on: 02 April 2008, 07:49:14 »
I know several people who have already had tickets issued by council using camera pictures. They are even harder to fight because you don't realise you have a ticket until the post arrives.
By then you have forgotten where you parked, when you parked and for how long.
How can you fight these tickets? >:(

I haven't seen the clip, and after all the comments I'm not going to bother and the feeling is the same advice to every one else. :o

BMTR on Walsall Road Perry Barr do it, but its about £100. They did say they would do it for £75 for cash... no receipt!

Have you used BMTR? or has anyone else? I rang them once for tyre prices but they were well more than Tyres R Us!

I guess going locally would be better than spending £20 in petrol to get to Loughborough tho, as long as the job is done well!

Haven't used them yet, couple of little jobs to do first then I'll give them a try. Money is a problem at the moment.
Several other tyre places have said that they are the only people locally who can do the Omega properly.

Thanks for the more local tip to the midlands! I can't find anywhere in Birmingham that's good for more than just tracking. Too many want over a ton for starters!

It'll be good to journey back to the old Lufbra uni haunts too! oh and get the geometry set right after a lower arm swap with TImbuk soon!

Happy straight days :)

Vauxhall springs are famous for snapping... Because of this don't use secondhand because you will be changing them very soon!

Sorry but I think its £60 and 3 points for you... >:(
Unfortunately the police are getting people for 'just over' the speed limit now. Also as someone else said perhaps they needed to get their numbers up and you were one of the highest of the 'just overs'.
Bad luck, just hope you get offered the course instead of the points!

I've put this in the readers comments section... Am I the only one, or has anyone else replied?

I appreciate everyone has the right to free speech and protest about things that upset them, but to let tyres down is nothing short of criminal damage.
I hope the courts will deal with these vandals severely.
Whether or not a 4x4 does give out more emissions does not give anyone the right to damage it.
What would be the reaction of the police if a car could not be moved because of this. To drive any vehicle on flat tyres will right the tyres off.
Who will pay?
The protesters? .... I doubt it!

This sounds a little like 'Big Brother' looking over your shoulder.
I assume it must be legal, but one thing it didn't make clear was if we, the customer, could opt out of it.

This thing must be on the rebound, I saw it a while ago and the general feeling was that it wouldn't make a lot of difference to the car.
Thats putting it politeley!!!!!    ;D ;D ;D ::) [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

There was one on Ebay for about £60 but it hadn't finished, so don't know what the final ammount was.
