Might help if you post up a good picture of your pump.

Your original part is NLS and superseded, hence I'm wondering if the later part can still be used with the earlier swirl-pot?

Might this be the pump you need, Delphi version.

No  thats not it . . .I'm sorry but cant do pics  . . (PC muppet )  But . . I think I have found one that corresponds to the OE

Bosch number .  It is E bay item  233798369125      any thoughts on this might be the one ? :-\ :-\

As regarding trying the later one to see if will fit ,   the supplier wont take it back if I break the seal  on the box to investigate  . .  >:( >:(

Hi Enceladus . .apologies, that could well be the one ,  its the right size. i was confused by the outlet having no hole in it , it probably has a bung/cover on it in that photo.  But still cant link that Delphi pump to the Bosch number  :-\ :-\

The Delphi FE0435-12B1 cross references the GM part # 93181359 and also the NLS GM #9119098. Your Bosch appears to be GM 9119098. The Lucas FDB1038 also cross references the Delphi FE0435-12B1.

The Bosch 0 580 453 985 seems to be hard to come by and may be north of £200. £305 for a new GM/Vauxhall branded.

I have no idea if the Delphi would be better bet than the Lucas. It was simply the first and cheapest that I came across where I believed it accurately cross referenced the GM part numbers.

Since it's an Autodoc listing it may well ship from Germany and be subject to Brexit delays, so might be better to buy the Lucas as it seems to be in the UK.

Update: This looks like a genuine GM swirl-pot complete with pump @ £130.

Now that you've got it out, it might be easier to take it to your nearest motor factors so you get a suitable part.
These things are all pretty standard/generic, so one that's physically the same will do.

this is being made far more complex than it needs due to hundreds of part numbers  :D
parts get superseded all the time
the bosch pump is 4 bar ,Lucas one is only 3 bar
the slight difference in length will be taken up by the flexible hose (15,16,17 or 18) clicky

I would open the box to compare the pump body with the existing one. They may well be the same, with the difference being the pump casing rather than the pump itself  ;)

It does need to be retained by the fittings and in the fuel.

But I do agree, it's not difficult to make one work.

If it's stupidly different, then simply throw it back on ebay.

Also Dave raises a good point the fuel regulator is 3.5 Bar on the 3.2 so that Lucus one is NFG ;)

Dave ,its about 30-35 mm shorter at a guess,  if the pump is shorter , then the centre plastic locking ring No.8 in the exploded diagram will not hold the pump in place . It will not be able to push down on to the top of the pump.  Pump sits in No.9 then part no. 8 goes over the top and clips it in .  My original pump seems to be the largest of those three shown , No. 2 I think

Having a mare with this  . . . :'( :'( :'(    think I'll go electric next time  ;D ;D ;D

the fuel pump is electric , and that's not working out well  :D

the screen (6 or 7 ) will hold the pump down if the weight of the pump don't  ;)

if it fits in the swirl pot (not too fat) slap it in ,
i imagine the 30-35 mm is well in the movement of the delivery pipe without reducing the flow

I had similar (smaller pump than what was fitted)  walbro ? in tank pump in a picasso , pumped the diesel just fine  :y

Yes, getting one that just fits should be an open the box and clip it in job.

Send it back.
