Question about V6 DMF's...
« on: 27 November 2013, 21:28:18 »

Do the 3.0 and 3.2 run the same DMF?

Is the clutch slave cylinder internal or external, or are there 2 variants?

Cheers  :y

Slave cylinder is internal, pushing the bearing directly onto the pressure plate springs :y

Standard DMF iirc, it all disintergrates the same if the release bearing fails :-X

Pattern ones are a bit less substantial, but if you need one, buy genuine as they're half the price of LUK ones :y

Any knows downsides from going for a solid flywheel and sprung clutch plate?  Apart from the flywheel being €329: http://www.mathijssentechnics.nl/?View=page&part_id=185014&hid=&lhid=&lvid=&mid=92 unless anyone knows of a cheaper one, of course!

Cheers guys  :y

I was asking on behalf of my mate who manufactures flywheels here in the UK.

Take a look here, they do some mighty fine work...
