Omega General Help / Bit of a wierd LPG problem.
« on: 23 May 2019, 13:41:55 »
During a rather spirited drive home last Tuesday evening, the car decided to refuse to run on lpg.
Got the thing home on petrol and set about a bit of fault finding.
Plugged the Stag software in and it came up with "Low gas pressure".
Map pressure with engine running was around 0.3 bar.
Gas pressure was indicating around 0.6 bar.
Checked the both the fuel gauge on the tank and the in-car indicator indicated approx 15 litres / 1.4 volts left.
Dug out a 12 volt battery and applied it to the tank solenoid which gave a satisfying clank so no problem there  :y
I had a old PS02 sensor in the shed so swapped it over and hey presto, everything working so thought no more of it  :)
This morning, i've just been for a blast down the A63 (late for a job interview).
Had the interview and came home at a more legal pace and parked the thing up.
Went back to it half a hour later to find it refuses to run on lpg again  :(
Took the wife to work and knowing it will be getting low on fuel anyway, I popped to the garage and plugged in.
I managed to force 36 litres into the tank which indicated I still had about 10 litres left.
Started the car and it runs perfectly on lpg again  ???
Got it home and plugged in the laptop again to check for codes. NO codes present  ???

Now this kit has been on two cars of mine and must be getting on for 7 or 8 years old.
Am I looking at a tank problem or something else ??

Omega General Help / 2,4,6 coilpack
« on: 02 February 2019, 11:16:59 »
Mines finally got to the point were its backfiring at idle on gas and throwing up a few codes in the process.
Gas map and other bits and bobs are working fine as far as I can tell.

I take it we (the forum) are still recommending Bosch ?
If so, where is the best place / price to get one please ?

Cheers Nads

General Car Chat / Corsa C rear brake problem
« on: 02 November 2018, 11:49:16 »
Mini Me's corsa decided to pop the drivers side, rear brake cylinder and empty the brake fluid all over a carpark in town  >:(

Now that side is the one with slightly dodgy bearing and also the drum is stuck on the shaft.

I haven't a tool to draw the drum off so what's the best / quickest way to get the thing stripped down so I can rebuild the brakes.

I'm thinking either destroying the bearing cage with a blowtorch and smashing f**k out of it until it falls apart

OR

Disconnecting the handbrake cable / brake pipe and removing the 4 bolts which hold the hub onto the axel, removing the full drum assembly and abusing it in the relative comfort of the shed with various power tools until its apart  :D

New drums, shoes, cylinders, bearings on order regardless so both sides are going to be rebuilt ................

TIA  :)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Weird alarm problem
« on: 24 September 2018, 19:26:37 »
Alarm on this is temperamental to say the least  >:(
Loves going off for apparently no reason during the summer but not so much in the winter.
It got to the point were if its having a pmt moment, I just lock the doors via the back door and get on with my life  ;D
Obvious faults like bonnet and the estate rear windows have been ruled out.

Right, over the last few weeks its been a little temperamental with the remote.
Today, the car refuses to respond to the alarm remote even though the red LED is corresponding to the button push.

Just cleaned the remote switches and changed the battery too.
Remote led is definitely brighter but it still wont talk to the car.
Tried going through the re pair procedure but nothing.
The car locks, deadlocks and the alarm sets with the key and opens the locks with the key.
Obviously you have to get the key in the ignition quick before it triggers  :-X

Any idea's gents  ?

Omega General Help / Stag lpg / PS-02 sensor question
« on: 05 September 2018, 16:54:28 »
Mine is throwing up a Gas Pressure too high warning when the car is warming up.
Normally within the fist 5 minutes of running.
Stag software says the gas pressure is around the 1.1 mark or slightly lower from start upto normal running temp.
Manifold pressure is around the 0.3 mark again from cold through to normal temp.
Once you have travelled a few miles from cold, you get no problem.

Have I got a dodgy sensor ?

TIA  :)

Omega General Help / Stag software question
« on: 23 August 2018, 14:15:19 »
After a complete setup from scratch, when you hit the save button does it save ALL settings ?
ie, Petrol and gas parameters and newly collected petrol and gas map ?

If after fine tuning the lpg side, do I need to save it again ?
I have 3 other maps saved in the laptop.
If I wanted to play, how would I delete a current map from the stag ecu and reload a older map ?

Omega General Help / Lambda question
« on: 30 July 2018, 13:15:49 »
Am I right in thinking that on a 3.2, its the 2 front sensors that do the work with the idle fuel trims ?

Both now seem to be very slow with neither switching the full range between 0 and 1000mV regardless of engine temperature  :(
MOT due in a couple of months and its been a close run thing for the past few years on emissions

If so, were is the best place to get them ?

TIA  :)

This is the tailgate loom plug (car side)

As you can see, it has a single brown wire / yellow trace with a small plug on it.

Were the hell does this plug into ??

The main plug was disconected but this one was not seen and pulled away when the loom was pulled out  :(
