help can anyone tell me when the electric water pump should kick in on the 3.0 v6 or if it has a relay and where it is in the fuse box

The one at the front by the rad kicks in when the engine is hot and you park up (along with engine fans) so that hot coolant is moved around the block to prevent localised overheating ...... no idea where it's fused from

There's one on the front? Heard only of the one under coolant tank making heating more efficient. If you mean that one then it should run always when power on/car running.

Yes  at the side of the rad at the top ..... can't remember which side, but it's only one or the other  runs as above. 

(It's exactly the same as the one you're talking about though)

My MFL V6 was fitted with one, as I'm sure all V6s are, not sure about the 4 pots  I can't see that it's Vx only as it's a simple means of preserving your car engine from cooking itself after a run when ambient temp is high

Is it on top or lower water hose or where? You got me reallh confused here

One pump is mounted vertically on the rear face of the radiator, next to the battery... possibly v6 only?

The other, identical, pump is part of the Winter pack, possibly facelift only, and always fitted if heated seats are present. It is mounted horizontally on the inner wing between the header tank and the chassis rail.

You've all got me intrigued now,I don't recall seeing either of these pumps.When I get the chance I'll have to have a look see just to satisfy my curiosity!!

So factory fit on all facelifts except GLS WITHOUT front fogs and heated seats

Here in Finland we have had that "circulation pump" as we call it all models starting from first PFLs. But then again never seen or even heard the front one   Strange..

Perhpas Finland doesn't get warm enough for the engine to need additional circulation when it's stopped

That might be   really strange still, sounds like a really smart system :/ Wonder if one could retrofit that by jumping power from rad fans power suply

It is possible mate absolutely, but if you did it with using two fuses you have no chance to loose two cooler elements in case of one faulty fuse.  Must admit I'm not sure of being two fuses in manufactured cars at all...
