I'm cobbling together a spare key, do I need to use a virgin chip or can they be reprogrammed ?

The car is programmed to the chip.


So you can reuse chips. If you know what you're doing.


The remotes are done the same way

Ok thanks, it's the older style key with the separate remote, I'm hoping to use a 2 button square remote for the spare and get a horse shoe cut but local locksmith hasn't got the right blank , HU83 apparently but that doesn't look right when I've looked. Anyone know the code for the horseshoe key blank ?
