It still makes no odds....

1) The Police wont be in the least bit interested

2) Neither will the insurance company

3) You can not prove the skid marks were from that car as its now been moved....

4) The insurance companies just want to pick the easiest solution....not plough extra K's into investigating further particularly as nobody was hurt....

Game set and match I am afraid.....been there, done that......

Not nice to say but at leaast mine was a sigle vehicle accident.

There was a crash yesterday on the way to work Ka in the hedge a car with smacked front, a pickup with smashed back - ice

Sorry to hear about your car LB.  :(

Insurance company will probably find you blameworthy since you failed to give way to approaching car.  Mitigation is clearly that the car was travelling too fast but they will state that a quick glance ain't enough; that you should have looked, seen and assessed speed of approaching vehicle before committing to turn.  It does suck though!!!!

Police won't touch this with a barge pole as no injuries.

You sure that boy racer is insured?

No one is admitting anything yet... especially me!  ;)

I know I am almost certainly fighting a lost cause, but it won't stop me trying my best (I'm stubborn like that!).

Garage are collecting car Monday and I can't get a courtesy car until Tuesday!  >:(

If there are any marks, backed by actual measurements, independant witnesses, snapshots from a camera phone or similar, gives a shout.  Might be able to help with some sums as regards time/distance, limited distance, minimum speed, speed of vehicle from brake wheel mark left etc etc.

Obscured view by roadsigns, bus stops, trees, bushes, bend in the road, verges, fences, walls, pedestrians etc?

(you'd never guess I do such things through work as well, so deemed as an expert witness in Court circles...   ;)  )

Good on ya Dave  :y

When i had my last 'own fault' accident ..... i just went with the flow......was offered crappy loan car.....but no good to me....so i hired one for three weeks at my expense (it needed to be a private hire car) . But make sure you shop around next time insurance is due......my comp tried to put my premium up by £400.....coz of the accident.....i shopped around and got it cheaper than i was paying before  :y

Had exactly the same as you but in reverse. Car driven by 2 pikies pulled out of a side turning, wet and dark  and... Bang. Checked registration & details with a plod mate, and they did'nt match. "Well there's a funny thing"  Insurance did'nt care, just paid out. They do not care if there's no personal injury. They can't be bothered to get these a**holes off the road. Maybe if they speed they might get them ;D Glad you and yours are ok.

Well things are progressing at a pace.

Yep, insurance are not interested, they are not even sending me an accident form!

They have written off the Omega (which is now back on my drive and will become many parts when all is sorted) and I have a Toyota Yaris  :-? that I have to give back today...
Yes sir, you can have a courtesy car, for 3 days!

Sorry? 3 days??

Yes, the time it takes for the assesor to come and check.
If your car is stolen or written off as "uneconomical" to repair we do not provide a courtesy car....

Bl**dy insurance companies!  >:(

I have also received my first "offer"  ;D of settlement.. we have a way to go yet....

Not surprised....

The courtesy cars in such cases are provided by the repair agent....if it aint repairable, they want it back.

Remember, refuse the first two.....

As for the skids marks, in my accident they were on my bonnet so no hope of measuring them....!!!

Wow sorry to hear it, sounds like it's going to be a lot of hassle but at least you're OK. I can't see you getting out of liability either TBH, even if you can prove the guy was speeding they'll probably go 50-50 at best.

I didn't so much refuse the first one as openly laugh at him!  ;D

I can see it is going to need the same approach I took last time to get a sensible offer.
