best place for my amps im stuggling cause i need all the space in the back to go fishing,the only place i can think of is in the rear seat foot wells the backs of the seats are no good as i need them folded down and then my system will then get bashed about with all my gear.

who would of thought finding space in a omega estate would be hard [smiley=lolk.gif]

I have fitted my Bose Amp in front of the Sat Nav bolted to the parcelshelf, as need to extra room for camping

Build a False floor containg amps, etc covered in perspex, had this set up in my cossie and it worked a treat...

obviously you have no idea of good quality sound just because the amps are big it doesn't have to be loud.

i have a Linn home stereo and that has 4 pre amps 4 power amps that is masive and sound quality that will take some beating and that is not a loud system but very high quality

Being somewhat tone deaf, you're right

However, car is pretty hostile for hifi, and you can't really shine that up much...

I think it's pretty hard to get a good sound in a car, it's just not designed for it.

This is what Car Audio is designed for, ok you wont get the Perfect Imaging your Home Audio System will give but with the right Equiptment and Positioning you can improve its stock.

Im running a Series Tuned Bandpass enclosure in my Mig basically the rear Chamber is Tuned to 24 hz and front to 70hz and have Plotted it correctly to play flat from 20 to 70.

Rear Chamber is 3 cuft and front is 2.5!

Because its a Sallon the Front Chamber Vent is firing straight through the Ski hatch!

is there any where designed for sound systems except recording studios theaters concert areas i cant think of any/many more

Personally I have always preferred the Quality route. Although My VX Royale coupe had 2x12" in a large cabinet driven by a 2 channel amp, then a seperate graphic equalizer driving a four channel amp to 3-way 6x9's at rear, 2-way units in cabinets screwed to front doors, and two tweeters mounted on the dashboard, Nothing nowadays, except this was circa 25 years ago...

However I am itching to fit an old low power valve power amp, well bolted, on rear parcel shelf of my Mig, driving a pair af BBC LS3/5a speakers.

I love the oldskool route.

For me its high efficient drivers and low tuned large Ported Cab's.....of course you need to upgrade a stock Midbass unit!

But i love a flat 20-40 hz!

What are your box Spec's Dubford ( Cab size and vent tuning?)

pheonix gold amps

900.1 1Kw amp for bass
4x150w for the mids
2x kfc-3011 kenwood subs (not really my choice but cheep as chips)
box tunes factory standard 2cu ft per inclosure cant remember what there tuned too (designed ages ago but only just built)

standard mids for the time beeing but got some alpine type R stuff kicking around so might throw that in.

0 gauge power to the back in a nice blue .... sexy

When i had my carlton gsi it had

12" solo barick
2 x 12" Kicker comps
Vibe amps
components in the front
2 x TV's
dvd player
and a play station

sounded like you were in the cinema!

im using 2x12 vibe space iso baric in a big bertha box custom
space 3 way front and rear
4x1.5 farad caps
two 1000w mono blocks rms sub amps (vibe)
two 500w rms for the the three ways
split charged etc etc
sounds awsome
and i hate using that word but it does

fully dynamated
24 band eq
headrest tvs
1 in boot
and up front
just about to change headunit not deciced to what yet though

What size is the Cab in the Iso setup?

My genral rule is for say 3 cuft for a single 12 and around 2.5 for iso'd pair.

Saying this because motor strength of the Iso'd couple tends to push the Woofer to xmax fairly quick!

So Box damping is raised with box being smaller!

I heard 4x15 inch JBL gt4's in a mazda (of my mates) iso'd in 7.5 cuft with 1600wrms, it got loud and to x max fast.

the two chambers differ in size as well as do the the ports and length and diameter to give a wider sub frequency response the spl of each apposing sub stops over exertion giving a more controlled stability
i will measure up and let you know
