The pump itself is a doddle to refurbish. Its literally a piston & ring in a cylinder. The piston ring gets worn out due to over use and looses compression. For Land Rovers at least, you can buy a refurb kit at about £30, so they should be available for Mercs  :-\ :-\ :-\

Its highly likely there the same manufacturer given neither Merc nor Land Rover make suspensions components

Similar system on my last Jag (X350) - Jag don't do refurb kits only a new compressor at £350.  However Audi do a refurb kit @£25 - the compressors being same make and model.  Reasonably easy to remove compressor and refurb.
Worth googling compressor model number & see if it throws up a refurb kit  ;)

Goes to show there's two sides to every part number.  :y  Land Rover in particular have the most incredible, comprehensive spares availability I've ever seen, and at bleeding cheap prices, too. Here's hoping you get sorted soon.  :)

If only it was a simple as a compressor that's failed.

I'll photo that side tomorrow, it looks like one of these slammed to ground Yank Tanks ... but just on one corner  ;D

Have you narrowed down the fault yet? Still unsure if it's bag, or something else, yes? You've probably been googling 'airmatic' left right and centre, but I did find this forum thread which may be of some help.. they do reference a failed relay, though I'd imagine two wheels/all four would fail in such an instance.

I suppose, stupidly low-tech as it may sound, some soapy solution may help.

...and now the punchline...

and then you could use some on your suspension, too.

Boom. boom.

Fair enough! No personal experience of Landie stuff, just went by what I was showed by a mate/OOFer who is doing up an old Range Rover Classic. I think it was the dealer's own parts catalogue he showed me, thicker than a big-print version of the King James Bible it was! As far as I was aware it was genuine Dealer stuff, but may have been aftermarket, I don't know for certain.

Probably Rimmer Bros, having had to maintain about 5 Land Rovers for the last 6 years you soon learn just how awful some parts are!  :y

Wheel cylinders and bearings are a classic example as are seals.
