Looks like I'll have to buy an engine then....
« on: 12 July 2009, 13:17:15 »

I can't find a good block, so I'll need to just get a good engine. I suspect cylinder head damage also on the 1-3-5 bank on mine, so probably better just to change the whole lump.

The only thing is - I only have an Astra estate to transport it, so the heads would have to be removed in advance.

If anyone has anything suitable please let me know - I'm looking to do the transplant at the end of this month, after I've finished the mig stem seal job  :y

For those who don't know the scenario - it's a 3.0 V6  (late engine)

Hi Guys

I'm genuinely touched - thanks so much for the offer of help moving an engine...

I would naturally cover any costs you asked for, plus whatever you would like on top...

I am going to get the use of my uncles garage which is rather large for this job - I'm actually considering a mini engine-fitting meet  :y

Nah easy enough to remove properly lol Managed to remove the last one in 2.5 hours from start to finish using my spare tool kit and undoing all clips etc, not really that much holding the engine in tbh...only thing I didnt bother doing was to remove the scuttle as it didnt matter if it got damaged or not :y
