Not just mangled, but the previous rust had been hideously bodged some time before: look at the filler falling out of the front wing! And that's a relatively easy part to repair well, imagine what the rest of it is like :o

Possibly.  He certainly hit the steering wheel with some force!  :o

It's pretty much in your lap in one of those, and many other older cars. That's one of the reasons why the British driving test required you to 'shuffle' the wheel through your hands.

The wheel is bolted to a rigid column that is rigidly attached to the steering box. It's like having a piston aimed at your diaphragm.

And yet you still hear people say that older cars or separate chassis 4x4s are better in a crash because 'they don't foldup'

£700 , do you think it will sell and if so what would the buyer do with it?

Log book and chassis plate is worth that, especially if you're building a rallycar.

You can buy complete new bodyshells, so it's 'repairable' too ::)

Video wont load on my laptop, just get the constant spinning thing.
I think I get the drift though. The one project I would really like to do would be a Chevette with 3.0 V6 under the bonnet.
Its been done before, and probably not that difficult technically, but the issue would be the price of a good bodyshell, if I could find one.

Were being sold for around $400, plus shipping obviously...
