Omega General Help / What is this part for ? 2.0 Engine
« on: 22 December 2007, 12:37:20 »
Can't work out how to post a picture so I'll try and describe it :

On the right hand side of the engine, just behind the battery, is connected to the small vac pipes and has an electronic connector going into the loom. Held in place with two torx screws.
Inside the electronic connector is a resistor and some gold wire. I know this cos it's bust on mine !

What does it do or is for ? Is it connected to the idle circuit because on idle occasionally the revs drop through the floor and then surge up again ?

And finally if it is important has anyone got a spare one for sale ?

Cheers

Omega General Help / GID - What does it monitor ?
« on: 21 December 2007, 15:58:40 »
Can anyone tell me what the GID monitors ?

I know it obviously does a brake light check but what else does it warn you about ?

I'm particularily interested in whether it warns about low fluid in the washer resovoir.

many thanx

Hello All,
I have a 1998 MV6 for sale.
117K with Previous MOT's back to 2004 to verify mileage.
MOT'd till Feb 2010 (No advisories)

Car is a mini-facelift with Xenon headlights (Washer jets missing)
17 inch alloys.
CD changer.
Steering wheel remote controls.
Unmarked cloth interior.

Drives as it should although I suspect the left hand track rod needs replacing as it clunks a bit.

Has a missfire that replacing plugs leads and rocker cover gaskets failed to cure but other than that the engine is very clean and has been well looked after.
(Dis pack has been ordered and will be fitted asap)

Breathers are clean.

17 " Alloys are in good condition, only one has a small chip as in pic. Tyres & brakes are good.

No idea what to ask for so offers considered. Questions and viewing welcomed.

Cheers

Jules

General Discussion Area / Vaux vs Merc
« on: 29 July 2008, 09:40:30 »
Used car prices are obscene these days.

I have a 1998 124K E240 Avantgarde estate for sale at the moment.
Full Merc history, no rust and all the toys, can you guess how much I should get for it ?

I'll give you a clue, according to Parkers when I shift it, I could buy a 2002 on Elite estate and have change for the road tax.

And do you know which I would prefer ? Because I know I do.

 :D

A 1995 2.5 TD Auto CD Omega with 110K for £100
 :D
Yes really, I'm off down the auction to see if I can actually get this car for £100.
 8-)
Now if you think I'm joking, some of you may remember I mentioned recently a 51 plate gls with 61K that I thought would sell for about £1100, well it was knocked down on Monday for £925 !! It was a nice clean tidy example as well.

Wish me luck  ;D

As you may know, I have decided I want/need an estate.

I have been offerred an 'N' reg elite, details below.

Vauxhall omega 3.0v6 Elite estate manual.

Gold with black leather interior, 115000miles with service history, moted till 26/12/2008 & taxed till 31/07/2008

electric memory heated leather seats
climate control
16" alloy wheels
abs with traction control
6 cd autochanger
towbar with electrics (just added for bike carrier)
e/w, e/sr rcl abs ebd pas

I have not yet seen the car but the seller wants £685 which I think is not unreasonable.

1st Question, this is an 'N' reg, will it have Xenons, self-levelling and dippy mirror?

2nd Question, I have a 1999 Mini-Facelift CDX 2.0l manual saloon with leather, CCRT700 and Carin. It has done 106K with FSH, it needs an MOT, an Oxygen sensor, and the breather valve sorted for idle. Is this car in this condition worth the same or more than the estate ?

3rd Question would I get a grand privately for my car with the faults fixed ? I'm sure it might just need pads and discs for an mot.

4th Question, should I straight swap, swap and ask for £100 (Carin value) or just buy the estate, and swap all the bits around (Carin,CCRT etc) then sell the CDX.

Final Question, anyone want to buy my CDX ?

Cheers for taking the time to read this.

General Discussion Area / What's it worth ?
« on: 22 January 2008, 15:00:05 »
I've just seen a 3.0 MV6 in black come up for sale on a 2000 W plate with 55k miles.

If I sold my :

1999 2.0 16V CDX
Leather Trim
CCRT700, unmarked bar a couple of rust bubbles on rear doors and a wee dent in boot lid.
Good tyres and unmarked alloys, full service history including cam belt changes at 40K and 75K, now on 99991 miles.
Everything works, no rattles etc etc has 6 months MOT and 11 months Tax. Champagne gold in colour.

Would I be realistic in wanting £1400 for it ? (Tax being worth over £150)

Cheers for comments guys.

General Discussion Area / Opelfix or Vauxfix ?
« on: 17 January 2008, 11:32:32 »
How do I clearly identify if my car has the Vauxhall child seat preparation ?

I believe it was optional and had to be ordered not fitted by default.

Cheers
