Hi
Need to change the twin centre and rear exhaust on the old girl. Was thinking of getting myself a stainless one made from the cat`s back.
Anyone have any idea if there would be a problem converting the twin centre section into 1 pipe ??

That is often the route taken by stainless exhaust makers...
The man to ask would be omegav6cd, the car he is currently selling has a blue flame setup which is very good....a little over 300 quid I seem to recall....speak to Mike at Mtek Perfomance (a member on here) for prices etc.

FYI. Jetex Systems keep the twin pipe setup from the cats back.

Really the case?

Had my system changed at Custom Chrome, still twin pipes cats back but one
long center box, sounds better as well.
First system change was a powerflow, what a load of rubbish that was.

Hmmm, I can't agree with that comment...
It is very much down to the quality of manufacture and fit.
A really good stainless system is excellent... others are not!
GM systems are both very well made, very quiet and free flowing as standard.
On average they last 6 years (a clear sign of the quality of manufacture).
The advantage of a stainless system is that it is more customised to your taste. It can be subtle, or more sporting.
Just pick the right company to do it!

Hi mate i notice your in Staffordshire.
I had mine done by a guy (Phil) who used to work for Stafford tyre and exhausts. He's a powerflow agent but a perfectionist. Had 3 cars done by him now and never had a prob. Unlike the one i have on my 130 which was done by powerflow in leeds by the previous owner. What a sack of sh1t... Same as anything else there's good ones and crap ones. Personally wouldn't go anywhere else now.
Anyway i had the option of going twin or single pipes and after looking at various set ups we decided to go single but increase the bore size to compensate. Sounded and performed excellent when done but has been made even better by me fitting the sport cats now. Sounds like a V8 Holden at full chatter but is still a nice tone at tickover and normal daily running without being over intrusive.

I think as well that it is down to the craftsman to produce a good exhaust. Using the GM you know that you would have your car running properly and it will look good due to the elimination of the craftsman factor. You need to be a bit cautious with SS exhaust manufacturers as they can make a shit exhaust very easily. Even at blueflame if i had let them do their own thing they would have made a bad system.
The jetex uses 2 mid boxes that in my opinion you don't need on a sporty exhaust and the tailpipes are too large for my taste, you do not need 80mm tailpipes on a car that makes 170bhp.
