« on: 02 March 2007, 16:54:41 »

Guess this has been asked, but cant find the post, but will a CCRT 700 work with my non Bose system and will it plug and go? I have a 600 unit at the mo in my 1998 MV6? If its to much work I will just get a car kit. Thanks in advance of any help.

I also dont know if we need a screen change to handle the phone information or if it will work with what we have? I am sure someone knows, fingers crossed.

the 7000 has its own display, won't work with others.  I think the Bose setting is software via Tech as per later NCDC series...

to my knowledge, on the CCRT700's the difference is in hardware - the bose versions (line level instead of speaker level outputs) have bose on the cassette door, normal versions do not. The normal versions will work fine with a non-bose setup.

the correct display for the CCRT700 should look like this (mobile phone signal strength, etc should be in bottom right of display) :

It's the facelift NCDC series that have this setting in software (ie programmed via TECH2)

.... but I could well be wrong!!  ;D

Sorry , I am confused now...

Can we sum up whether concensus of opinion is that it can ..or cant be done.

What will happen if I simply replace my BOSE CCR800 unit with the CCRT700 Bose unit?

Regards

Probably a radio that will work, but no phone. I wouldn't think it'll be worth the effort. New GID & microphone required for a phone that's a good 7 years old. Get a decent hands free installation for your hand held mobile.

Just to clarify another option...

I have purchased the ccrt 700 to replace my bose ccr800.

I have the MID screen, so apparently the phone wont work with it?

If i was to buy a GID screen (the one that works with the ccrt700) would i just need to get it coded to the ccrt700?

then get a mic obviously...
