Title: Water leak X30XE

I got water leak and it's leaking from the oil cooler plate.

Should I change the oil cooler at the same?
And the plate doesn't need changing? Just cleaning and reinstall?
Both water temp sensors?
Crank sensor if I'm taking it off?

And should I change anything else?

Use old cooler if it's intact. Just clean the plate and seal it with some silicone (gm's own grey goo?) It would be good to change both temp sensors since they're available and don't cost too much :y Crank sensor is easy to change by itself when it goes. You need also to change coolant bridge washers and cooler pipe banjo bolts and washers :y

Getting the nuts off will most probably destroy the threads on cooler, this will happen on 8 out of ten coolers. I think the "old" type cooler can be opened but the "new" type stainless can not.

Opel-dealers often do not stock these parts but they will order them and get them within two days.

Check all the top water pipes for kinks and blockages while your under the bonnet.
If their are any restictions, the plate is a weak point where the pressure can escape  :y

Okay, thanks.
I decided to dismantle everything today since the copper washers are coming tomorrow and take the O-Rings with me and go to this local rubber shop.
I got used cooler and plate that are in good condition, for free, so I hope I'm surviving with those.
And the seal silicone that they hit my hand with in opel service was "Loctite Quick Gasket SI 5980". Hope it's ok.
Opel service couldn't say which temperature sensor I have so if I want to change it I gotta get it out and take it to them to know for sure.

Then I got a question about valve cover gaskets. I have plastic covers and they gave me 4 rubber gaskets, did they give me the right ones? It's like 2 on a side...??

As new mig as yours should have oval type connector coolant sensor. And to the cam cover gaskets, yes they have separate gasket for each cam, so you'll need four :y

Just remember to leave the grey sealant at least 24 hours to go off BEFORE you fill with water / antifreeze or you will end up doing it all again  ;)

Also worth pressure testing new (second hand cooler) before fitting :y

Be a shame to do all that work and find you now have cappuccino mayonnaise everywhere :-\

Everything fine, just that the oil cooler's other 30mm nut didn't come as planned and broke the oil cooler's bolt thread...but that wasn't anything tragic as I already kinda knew it.

The other cam cover gasket isn't leaking should I change it still? Only the one with the oil filler neck is leaking.

I just need couple torque infos for getting everything back together.
Cam covers 8nm?
Oil cooler 30mm nuts 30nm?
Oil cooler banjo bolts 30nm?
Crank sensor 8nm?
The black intake thing 20nm?
Intake system with fuel nozzles to the black thing 20nm?
Intake plenum 10nm?
Oil cooler plate ??
The bridge where is temperature sensors and the sensors too??Should I use some gasket silicone with these?
Oil pipes to the engine block(near oil filter)??
Oil filter to the engine block(I have the cartbridge type filter)??

Hello, Job is done and 2000km driven!

Not such leak yet, but I think I still saw something one day as I was trying to check any leaks.
The weather has been so bad and haven't been able to go under the car much and the carage where I got to do this project isn't available.

Job was pretty much as it has been described "an enjoyable job" it was pretty simple lots of thinking and as I'm so cheap it was pretty hard finding different parts from the cheapest place :)
