I always liked these and this one could be a lovely usable classic for the summer!  :y

A Vitesse is still a usable daily driver. But not that one ::)

Bidding for this Vitesse is at £780.

I think the owner should stick a Ford badge on it and watch the price rocket!  ::)  ;D

you can still buy Omegas and other cars from ebay, autotrader, friend face market place etc  ;)
those have all been sitting 5 + years and probably can't EVER be returned to the road for legal reasons of the scrappage scheme T&Cs  :P
a sad waste  :(
it's as if the government is spending and wasting tax money on stupid ideas without even considering the views of the tax payer  :o

Presumably you could stick the 2.5 straight six from the TR6 under the 'Herald hood' complete with fuel injection. :)

I recall some motoring journalist bod describing the Marina as fifties technology pretending to be the future in the early seventies. ;)

You can, but the only thing that has going for it is that it bolts together using factory parts. They're no longer easy to find, always need an expensive rebuild and aren't very good(big, heavy, thirsty, short lived, not very powerful, big and heavy). Cheaper, and better in everyway would be to fit an Mx5 engine, gearbox, wiring loom and steering column.

MY 1976 2500S with twin SU carbs made barely 100 BHP.

The early TR6 PI 'supposedly' made 150 BHP.....  Hmmm, seems unlikely.

Here's some more Marina's for you to feast your eyes on M'Lud!  :y

My Dad's pickup that I took my test in was the same Brooklands Green as this one, although it had the stock 1300cc engine.  :)

Triumph's six is one of the engines that made the Essex V6 seem like a powerhouse....

Having driven a standard TR6 I can say with a degree of confidence there is no way they produced 150bhp.
I drove a race tuned version about 15 years ago and that felt like it might just about have 150bhp.
Handling on both cars was atrocious btw.
