The A37 between Ilchester and Yeovil at the Half Way House has had traffic lights for 2 weeks whilst they supposedly repair the road surface. Caused 30 minute delays when I forgot and went that way, and I never saw anyone doing any work. It re-opened yesterday, and I came that way to work this morning. There is a pothole that rivals Cheddar Gorge there now that was not there before. What the Fech have they been doing for the past two weeks?

And next week the main road up from our cul-de-sac is going to be closed for 5 days from 08:30 to 5pm. I *think* I can still turn left at the top of the road, but there are two large schools at each end of this main road, so the traffic is going to be chaos. And they're supposedly doing it 08:30 till 5pm so as not to disturb the residents of a few nursing/old peoples homes

The A29 is closed in our corner of dystopia due to a landslide and subsequent gas main breach.

No indication of when they might do something about it... Although I suspect that they're waiting on the insurers of the slid land to get a finger out...

And tonight, the road works are back, but the traffic lights either have been turned off, or are broken. Resulting queue is half way to Yeovil - perhaps 2 miles. Luckily I was going the other way. Looks like a water main has collapsed coz there is water pi55ing everywhere. No sign of anyone doing anything about anything.

There are loads to put up the signing and cones but very few who actually do the job they were put up there to indicate.

Around here and, I'm guessing, most other places, they hire the traffic lights + operators. Loads of flatbeds running round with traffic lights on the back. If it's a big job, the traffic light people stay with them all day.
But I've noticed lately that the traffic lights are set up, with cones, well before the job actually starts. I suppose it makes sense for the workmen to turn up and start straight away. It can be frustrating though.

What has pissed me off today?  oppsing egay sellers. Again.

Touch up paint needed (that's also pissed me off), and wanted genuine JLR, as more likely to be formulated for aluminium, and should be nearest match, though it always will show.  Out of laziness, went to egay, and purchased from a large dealer group.  oppswits sent wrong colour, and now don't respond to egay messages.  Finally given up, and done it as a return...   ...which means a whole heap of waste time, effort and fuel as I have to now drive to the drop-off point.

Did I mention I oppsing hate oppsing egay sellers?

And that's on top of dealing with IT vendors like certain network provider often referred to as Switchzilla, and a certain Israeli storage array vendor that couldn't get a poxy drive from Heathrow to Brackley in the 8 days I gave them.

Why is everything that is so simple made to be so bloody challenging.

Once you accept the fact that the modern world just doesnt work, your blood pressure will drop to normal levels and you will feel much more relaxed.
Everything is run by the educated stupid now and we can do nothing to stop it.
Just try and swerve it when at all possible.
