Don't bother to start it up. Joking aside i think that Eternal were the 'go to' brand over here in the UK but the situation may have changed since Brexit. I got a couple from Poland which were good quality but mine was only a 2.2 four pot.  . Good luck with the search.

The brands we used to recommend in the UK were either Eternal Car or ETS.  Both were of a decent quality.

I no longer have an Omega, so haven't bought one for years now.

Brands I would avoid like the plague are Timex and Bosal.  They sound awful and you'd be hard pressed to get them to last the 2yr warranty.

The quality of GM exhausts for the Omega dropped dramatically about 10 years ago, so they aren't recommended either.

2.2 exhaust will fit perfectly if that's all you can find... It's basically a bigger 2.0 16v.

When shopping, just be careful that you get the correct exhaust for the body style as they are different saloon/estate

And FL saloons were slightly longer due to the bigger bumper, but this can be overcome easily with a exhaust tail piece from any motor factor.

I have to disagree with the comments about Bosal exhaust quailty, just from my own experience of them. I fitted Bosal centre sections and a rear box to my 2.6 about 6 years? ago. Fitted like a glove, and had the lovely V6 note associated with the original GM system out of the factory. Fitted a stainless 45 degree exhaust tip to make it look like the original GM back box, and it is still going strong with minimal corrosion. I did buy it direct from the Bosal factory in Preston along with other pieces when it was about to be closed, and it has lasted a lot longer than a friend of mine who bought a system (not sure what make or which company) from Europe for his 3.2 a good while after I got mine, who is now on his second system.

Are you sure about that?
The 2.2 16V has two centre boxes and twin inlet sockets on the rear silencer.
However doesn't the 2.0 16v have only one centre box and one inlet socket on the rear silencer?

The manifold connection is the same, as are all the hangers. The 2.2 has a spur AFTER the cat where the second centre box connects. This may well then run into the back box as two pipes. The 2.0 16v is a single run but only has one centre box, which is offset to one side of the car.

The 2.0 8v is different because it has a different manifold.

Both the 2.2 and 2.0 16v have a single connection to the back of the cat, so a cat back exhaust for either will fit the other.

So perhaps I may have been clearer, but if you require a complete exhaust or a cat back one, then you can fit either the 2.2 or 2.016v one.

He is totally correct, had trouble finding a correct one for my Desmond and fitted an ok one from off my old 2 litre 16v PFL. Lasted ok until i sorted out the correct one for the Desmond.
