New front discs and pads fitted pretty easy job and sprayed the calipers black after treating them :y

Got the GM oil ready just waiting to get the GM oil filter delivered from Vauxhall Official eBay... Not going to fit the steering idler until the oil is all sorted.

It's coming along slowly, I just want to use it already  :)

Just drained the oil and letting it drip, the oil wasn't too bad but the filter  :o was in a hell of a state even had a whole through it and pretty much crumbled in my hands ...
Fitted a new GM one along with the seal  :y going to flush some clean oil through the engine to help clear out the old stuff  :)

Few electrical faults with the Elite, I've only just noticed that the 3.2 has factory fit parking sensors but their not bleeping at all could be many things I suppose, fuse, lose or broken wire, beep speeker faulty etc... Any idea what it could be and if its possible to be a fuse which fuse would it be.. Not really fussed about them but I like things to work (who doesn't  ;D)...

And I'm sure it has automatic sensing wipers as there's no variable speed scrolling wheel.. How could I test if it has them is there a activation switch or something and I presume a hosepipe would activate them.. and it's possible if it had a windscreen replacement not the proper type was fitted, ah well i'll play around with things tomorrow.. It's a 2002 on a "51"..

Not an electrical fault but the ashtray is one of those type that doesn't close properly. Just annoying that is.. Shame the 2.2s is perfect.

Funnily enough the electric rear blind works have read many times on OOF these can be a pain..

Thanks
 :)

Back to my original 1st post about the parking sensors i fancy having a go fixing them..

Few questions where is the speaker, control box, fuse etc.. located

Parking sensors .. if no noise its power, speaker or control box, as the self test circuit will give a series of beeps if it detects something else wrong, like a sensor failure.
fixable easily or  :-\
If it`s the speaker, modify a tweeter ;)
I'm not sure what you mean Rob by modify a speaker  ??? Do you mean replace ?

There is no noise of any type when in reverse apart from the engine sound  ;D :-*

Speaker should be under headlining near sunroof, control box normally mounted forward of spare wheel well, no fuse, power comes from reverse light circuit.

Tweeter, Yes.
You need a tweeter and it`s plug with a short length of the two wires. Remove Parkpilot speaker, join the two tweeter cables to the Parkpilot speaker cables then remove the resistor from tweeter and solder the two arrowed wires together, wrap tweeter in foam, bit of double-sided tape, position tweeter, plug in, job done.

Any pics of location of speaker or tweeter whatever the little bugger is called, Had a look where that round plastic cap slides off near the sunroof cant see anything like that in there  :-\

and where would be the best place to buy the replacement part from..

Is it more likely to be a speaker/tweeter failed going by experience ?

No pics. Locate control box, if passenger side (should be) speaker cable will route behind "C" pillar trim, along headlining trim then should route across to rear of sunroof where "B" pillar (seatbelt) trim is.

No idea where they can be sourced.

Easiest way to determine speaker failure is to strip back the insulation on both wires, wrap another cable to each bare strand and connect the other 2 ends to any old car speaker

Will have a better look tomorrow. Maybe someone on OOF scrapping a car will have one to sell  :-\

Control box, then speaker cable behind C trim runs along edge of headlining behind roof trim then at B pillar 90deg across to rear of sunroof :D Once you`ve traced the cable you`ll be able to see the speaker when pulling down headlining slightly.

So if i've understood this correctly the speaker isn't under this cover and more towards the passenger side seatbelt/elec sunroof area   :y

C trim off (seatbelt bolt & couple of torx under caps). B pillar top trim off (torx behind oval cap), grab handles, then you should be able to gently prise it down enough to see where the speaker is
