Vauxhall CID Display Programming
« on: 22 April 2008, 09:54:50 »

Dear All -

A big thanks must go to Peter (WEDS) who sent me a Vauxhall CID display to have a play with.

I think (?!) I am now able to reset the CID display back to its DELIVERY MODE so that it can then be programmed into the new car using the TECH2 programmer.

My problems is that I need a Guinea Pig to try this out on. If you have a old display that needs resetting before it can be re-used, please let me know.

If I have got this correct, it will now mean that all of those worthless and unprogrammable CID displays can now be used !!

I should have one arriving this week that I can pop in the post to you Dave.

Not sure yet if its in delivery mode but, if it is, I can always config it using tech2 first.

I have a CID and a NCDC2013, sitting in a box, which came from (together) an Vectra C. Its heading for my MV6 FaceLift, when ever I can get my hands on the extra lead at the back.

I know these units where not de paired (put in delivery mode) but fairly sure no need as there not been split.

If you want, you can play with these (I actually need the 2013 put in Bose mode at some stage???).

Let me know.

Chris.

Chris,

Thanks for the offer, but if you have a matched pair then I would leave well alone, just in case !!

I`m fairly certain that the BOSE mode is programmed via Tech2

Yes, it is part of the varient coding in the NCDC programmed by Tech2

Interestingly, the NCDC2013 upper section appears to be much the same as the single din units in the vectra etc, the lower 4 disc changer does have differences to that of the sme section on the CCR2006.

Dave, can you get hold of KSS601A optical pickups as fitted in the 4 disc changers......they appear to be obsolete from my research.

The one in my NCDC had failed so swapped it from a scrapper I had but would be interested to know the availabilty

Haven`t seen one of those for years - but thinking about it, can`t recall any another In Car Product that uses them either?

have you tried Siemens VDO, Gravelly Park,  Birmingham? :-/

Is the 4 CD Autochanger on the NCDC2013/15 basically a CDC3?

Apart from the obvious fascia differences, the only difference between the CDC3, and the Four disc changer as used on CCR2006 and the NCDC range is the Vertical PCB that runs the length of the changer on the right hand side. This board also controls the protocols, so if you want to swap a unit over, swap this board and the code / protocols will remain the same.

The vertical PCB is also different between the CCR2006 and NCDC's.....although Dave might have already said this!
