Post by: Amigo on 06 October 2010, 21:09:38
Yeah i can do a batch of cookies or some flapjack or "Oaty cake" as my mum calls it. Considered doing individual portions of curry & rice but have no means of heating it. Only hardcore curry lovers can eat it cold & i'm not dragging the caravan out for a day meet. I could knock a few somosas /onion bhajees up instead.
Pete's Motor museum idea sounds good to me. We could meet up @ the servs first? :y

I think we usually make it around midday may be earlier if we're going to the museum [without Daz]. That way those with a longer journey & an early start monday don't get home too late. 2pm start would be a bit late for me.

I turned up to the first one in a BMW Debs & DLK & i played Thelma & Louise in Pete's MX5 so i don't think it matters if you turn up in a "Disgrace".

no relation i assume  :y

(they split up over 10 years ago when the Bass player went AWOL big style....    )

If they want to fit a clamp on any of our cars i'd like to see them try, we can all drive up to the next junction & back.
If any a'wipe even got close to my alloys with that bit of metal you would'nt be able to post the resulting film on here although it would be somewhat entertaining. As for issued fines you can simply ignore them. Parking in servs is neither a criminal or civil offence & is not enforcable by law.

Would appear to be a recent thing that people have been getting charged, in that case clock what time you arrive then at 1hr and 58 minutes drive off the carpark round the roundabout and straight back on as the camera is on the entrance and exit side. Can't see anything about how many times in a day you can visit :y

The services sign also states that clamping takes place to, and have you seen the prices that their charging  :o .

How many people may not turn up at the services now they've seen the services link ? :-? .

If that's going to be the case, then maybe for next time we need to find somewhere that will be more welcoming, and no waiting time rule ??.

Mind you if we decide to go in convoy around and back, how cool would that be having x17 Omegas driving around together  ::)

Take a very big pair of bolt croppers with you for the wheel clamp padlock.  ;)
Cut off the lock and hold the clamp hostage until they canel any fees :y
Remember to replace the lock so that you don't get into too much trouble  :(

You could only do that if you didn't damage any part of the clamp.  If you damage the lock, they'll probably in the right to get the cop's onto you for criminal damage.  Wouldn't be worth the hassle to be honest  :-/ .

I'd rather find a different venue for next time.  Sod the services  >:(, when the company that runs the services closes it down as their not having many customers, it'll serve them right  ::) .

In al honesty there's probably loads of this she I could find to do, paint a bedroom, tidy a route though my garage etc etc, but the meet is a handy excuse not to do any of those things. I can see me going back in work after 6 days off, and done the square root of nothing! .... again.  :-?

Think there's still a few that will be turning up Pete, even though they're concerned about the parking fee info that's now been spoken of !.
I believe Wellung was going to phone the Services manager and see if he could see if we could meet up without fear of the Gastapo looking at us as easy targets to make a quick buck, and them looking elsewhere  ::) ;D

Though know there's a few that have dropped out due to personal commitments.

The weather is supposed to be half decent anyhow, so hopefully won't be a wash out.

Perhaps we all need to think if there's a more suitable place to meet up. One where were more welcome as members of the public, and not having to feel like it's a short stop meeting  ;)

Also having decent public toilets for the ladies on here who would like to come along  ::) .

Welcome aboard. Plenty of meets next year. You're not too far from Newent which is a biggie.
Any doubts about your new motor go on one of the Omega help sections & ask there. Someone will help you out. Guy. :y
