was watching the film , russian submarine K19.. just finished ..
 
its unbelievable  ???
 
no backup cooling systems..no radiation clothing.. no pressure meter.. no trained doctor for radiation and no drugs suitable..
 
even iodine tablets >:(
 
who on earth was the quality control manager or planning engineer or whatever for that job..
 
they just build it and sail..  ???

may not be totally true, but many people died ..  I think they build it in hurry but how they can permit it to sail  :-\

I think the race to be the country with the largest and most effective nuclear launch capability overshadowed any health and safety concerns.

What was more impressive was the actions of the captain with the potential for the whole vessel to go critical, fully ladden with warheads and how the results of that would have been interpreted by NATO.

captain was crazy at the beginning of film and forced the submarine unnecessarily.. however , stepped down to earth after radiation problem..

When you mentioned K class submarine, I thought you were talking about a proper blighty steam submarine, not one of these new fangled rusky nuclear ones.  ::) ::) ::) ::)
